scheduled start time problems

I'm listed several items, I'm trying to schedule the auction start times as I normally do. 1. I pick the date. 2. I pick the start time (example: 7:15pm). 3. I click "done". When I exit the scheduled time box it reads "start time: 6:15pm, some times it reads 5:15pm), not the 7:15pm time that I selected. I've been scheduling auctions for years and never had this problem until about a month ago. Any advice? Thank you in advance.

After you click on the exact time you want, click outside of the pulldown menu in order to close it with the setting that you chose. Otherwise a random mouse movement or (especially) a roll of the mouse thumbwheel can move the highlight to another choice before the pulldown menu closes.

Also remember that you have to think of (and select) the desired setting as Pacific Time, not whatever local time zone you are in.

thanks for the feedback. Yes, I make sure I dont get a random mouse movement. As I said, I've scheduled all of my auctions for many years and never had this problem.

scheduled start time problems

I noticed the same thing happening to me on Saturday, when I was scheduling my items for Sunday.

Just put it down to Daylight Savings going away on Sunday but it was a pain to keep correcting it.

scheduled start time problems

I saw this this afternoon when I tried to schedule a BIN to start tomorrow at 5AM PST.  First time, after I hit DONE, it came back as 4AM.  Second try it came back with a PM time.  Third time, it came back with 3AM.  Okay.  Whatever.

I've been using the new form for a month, so I DO have experience  scheduling a start time.

Another day, another eBay glitch.

For me the day and minute seem to work fine. It's the hour that keeps getting messed up. My solution has been if I want to schedule an item for the 7 o'clock hour I need to select the 8 o'clock hour, that works 90% of the time. Sometimes I need to select the 9 o'clock hour. It's frustrating and time consuming when you're scheduling alot of items.

I have had the same problem. First time I listed anything in about a month and never had problems. I have also had the day change.

Just had to keep typing til it came up right.

Did this by chance just start with the new listing tool? I never had a problem with the old listing tool but have not tried to schedule any starting times with the  new one.

Been using the new listing tool for a couple of months and this was the first time that it was an issue.

Just did a new listing for next Sunday and it worked just fine. Pretty sure it was a Daylight Savings issue.

Ebay's 'tech' responses are **bleep**, so beware some of their responses. They hide internal problems. I've been on their system 20+ years and notice every time something new 'happens'. About 5-6 weeks ago the start time problems started. I first noticed when I took an item from scheduled and went to make it live. It used to occur almost instantly. Now, they jump around the start times at random. I've listed items and seen the start time - while live - jump forward and backwards.  Now, weeks later, I noticed some minor cosmetic changes on the sold items summary. EVERY time (last 20+ years), they go to make a visual change (that often does not add value) they screw up something else in another area. Typically, the screw-ups get fixed eventually as they fine tune their changes. The start time issue is concerning for me because it's lasted so long. I like to list alphabetically, so it's easy for buyers to locate items while browsing my stuff.  It's impossible to do now when ebay is basically randomly re-arranging start times right at the point of listing.

I’m still having this problem November 2023. It seems to happen during clock time changes daylight savings, etc. The scheduled time kept bouncing around when I tried to schedule. Today all my listings went off at AM time when I always do Sunday PM. And now I see my listings ready for next Sunday are scheduled for Saturday which I can fix thankfully catching it in time. 30 billion dollar plus valued company can’t fix this?

I FOUND A WORK AROUND (READ)

Yep! ... Everyone on this thread is correct.  Just a couple weeks ago, scheduling was working fine, now ... it's unusable. Every time I set up a 'schedule' ... save the draft ... and then go back to that same draft, the time is all screwed up. Ex: 12/28/2023 at 6:05 P.M. .... when I go back into the draft it reads Ex: 06/19/22 at 3:16 A.M. ?

Clearly there is a problem, and it's kind of insulting that eBay is trying to shift the blame back on us, when this was working just fine a couple weeks ago.

I did find a work-around though. I just start a 'Draft' using my phone, and then when I get on to a desktop, the scheduled time is correct.

Using a Desktop PC

Chrome

Windows 11 Pro

eBay ..... ? Are you out there? This is a real problem.

Pretty much everything you just said is what I’m dealing with and eBay agents just offer to open an IT ticket and sweep it under the rug. Yet another problem on my list of platform issues. You can’t even select any start times other than the quarter hour. I’m pretty tired of tap dancing around the eBay platform problems. It’s affecting my business.
