right up to the deadline

I know most of you use Priority Mail for everything but it's scarce for me (I ship Media Mail). I have 3 of these orders to ship tomorrow which is the USPS deadline. I hope I don't get anymore after that. What would/will you do about orders later in the week, contact the buyer to see if they still want the item? Or assume they want the it for non-holiday reasons?

People buy stuff all the time, not just for "the Holidays". Ship on your normal schedule.

I’m not aware that USPS in on some sort of deadline, for what? I ship orders later in the week same as early in the week.

When you say deadline I am assuming it's the deadline to ship in order for the items to arrive by Christmas. Remember that is a projection by USPS and not guaranteed. Every buyer should see an estimated delivery date when they are looking at the item and it will vary depending on the buyers location. Ironically for media mail tomorrow is probably already too late. I looked at one of your listings and I get the following estimated delivery dates which is kind of funny given you are in Manassas, VA which is about a 20 mile drive for me.

If it is shipping to CA then the delivery is a bit longer.

Only 20% of the world's population are Christians. The other 80%, many of whom live right here in the U S, don't give it no never mind. Do not try to second guess your buyers motives.

They pay, I ship, and I don't think further than that.

yeah, I guess what I'm talking about is hand-holding. I'm getting people asking me to get the books to them by Christmas but I  hope that will end as of today. I hope people will look at the ebay delivery window. Overall sales are still good (a lot from Amazon) and I hope all those people are non-holiday buyers.

Unless they specifically ask me I just ship orders as usual. I do NOT contact them.

That said, I have 1 day shipping and usually I cut off for the day after mail pick up around 11 and (if) any order  after next morning but last few days I've been dropping at the PO in the late afternoon as well, but I don't tell the buyer that.

After the 2020 debacle I DO spend some time tracking orders that were bought and shipped over the last couple weeks because something bought a week ago the buyer has a right to expect it before Christmas and I want to see that it is on track and if not I DO inform them because I want to be proactive. Knock on wood this year has gone without a single problem.

Just want to add, as a general observation, items from and to my location here in New Hampshire  have been dead on time OR early. That includes a book shipped Media Mail to FL the other day, arrived in 4 days, and a used GoPro 8 I ordered for myself from a seller in CA in the wee hours Friday morning is scheduled to arrive today (Monday) as opposed to the projection of Tues-Fri when I ordered. Coast to coast over the weekend on the week before Christmas is **bleep** good.
