Did you mean:

"You ended this listing because there was an error in the listing."

I recently changed an item from BIN to auction format through the "Change to auction" in my seller hub. The new auction listing is active and the old BIN is now in my "Unsold", but when I double checked it to make sure I could safely delete it, I noticed the above message on the original BIN.

I'm assuming the "error" is that it was originally a BIN and the "correction" was the cancel/relist as an auction, but I'm curious... does this affect seller metrics at all? Will I get dinged for too many listing cancellations, even though they're being cancelled and relisted through the tool eBay offers us to do so? The original BIN was up for quite a while and I was hoping that as an auction item, it might possibly attract a bit more interest.

Ending/changing to auction, is not cancelling.

no defects/dings are assessed for ending fixed  listings.   I do it often.

No. You're worrying over nothing. 😁

Should not be causing you a problem with your metrics.

I think donsdetour didn't realize you were quoting the OP above the fold.

It is eBay's newest catch all phrase for several functions and actions.  ie You used to be able to cancel a listing with a simple click onto the tab and cancel the listing. Now the tab has been buried and when you click on it once you find it, you have 16 pages of forms to fill out and you get one of the "catch all" phrases.   Why you say, because they can. In the meantime GMV keeps falling even though we are in an inflation environment. EBay revenues keep rising though, wonder how that happens.

You can have issues if you:

1) cancel a transaction

2) cancel an auction that has had a bid.

You did neither.
