"The selected item is no longer available." Can't view your own sold listing.

As a seller who have a few hundred of item listed, I find it very annoying and irritated that I can not view my own listing that I just sold recently.  Everytime I try to click my own listing that I just sold, it would open a page stating "The selected item is no longer available.", and show someone else item that is similar to it. I have no option to even view my own item.  I have buyer who had a question about the item right after they purchase the item. However I can't even view my own item to clarify the question they have. Is this the new normal or just a temporary glitch? Anyone have any idea how to view your own item that you just sold?

Guessing they are doing this to sell our expired listings to third-parties for price checking purposes..

Hello ronniedean52 & everybody else.  When we first saw this problem appear on Friday (June 1st) "The listing you’re looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you.", we were pretty upset also. But after reading in the 'My Account' forums this Saturday evening, a poster noted by hitting on the actual blue "listing" word/button on that wording phrase on auction, it should take you back to the original listing, seller, completed listings and so on. We tried it on some past 1 oz. Gold auctions just now, and it did work fine. Hope that function works for everybody else? It is one more step to do and may be a pain (for hand held devices), but it did work fine on a laptop. Must be a new change? Glitches & new changes without forward information can be very irritating. Good luck to everyone!

Hi karlinfarm,

I'm not seeing what you're referring to on my page of recently bought items.  Am I just being dense?  perhaps a screenshot might help?

I simply get "The selected item is no longer available."  Nothing clickable about it.

Work around for now.

ON your sold items page. Click the EDIT link near the tracking number. Next page click the listing title and you'll be taken to the original listings.

I really hope this gets fixed before it starts causing real problems.

Sorry to report that this method doesn't work.  It will still take you to the "the selected items is no longer available" page without the baby blue "listing" highlight everyone is talking about to click to take you back to the sold listing. It looks like any items that were sold using the ebay catalogue guide to publish the listing is giving this trouble. I was able to view some of my sold item that i manually typed in without the ebay catalogue guide. This is some crazy s@

I'm a bit confused. I've seen the blue bar and almost hidden blue on blue listing link on some sold search results I looked at, but ALL of my sold item listing pages are visible as per usual. Wonder if it's because I don't use seller hub?

Same in Selling Manger Sold - all good (so far).

As of right today 6/3/2018 11:00am EST, it looks like ebay may have fixed this issue where you can view items that were sold. I'm keeping my finger cross, and hopefully this is a permanent fix. It looks like ebay got an earful from angry sellers and buyers.

The one I checked last night is fixed but I still have items doing this. Just eBay catalog items...

So to be clear about my work around above.

From the Items Shipped Page....https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:PAID_SHIPPED

Select the EDIT link next to Tracking. On the next page click the Title link and you Should... Get the original listings.

Re : The selected item is no longer available.

If the item is lost in the post you can now no longer access the page to get the item Number to make a claim !!  Unbelivable Ebay

On some (not all) completed listings, I see "The listing you’re looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you.".  When I click on the word "listing", it will take me back to the original sold item.  This is all very annoying, particulary when I'm trying to do research on sold items to appropriately price my items.

What I also see is that on those "similar item we found for you", it's not even close to what the original item was, i.e completely different brand, size, condition, etc.

Losing the ability to see the listings for what I've bought, or what I have sold, and what else has sold for valuation purposes makes my eBay business impossilbe.  Unless this is fixed, other avenues will need to be found for this commerce.

There is no practical way to use eBay as a business without this.  While an occasional user MIGHT learn to take lots of screen shots in order to check an item that arrives and make sure it is as listed, or to answer a buyer's question about a sold item, this would be too time consuming and inefficient for someone who does it as a business.  Additionally, since we had no warning, there are currently bought and sold items for which information has been lost.   The ability to check and set pricing has also been mostly eliminated.  This must be fixed for eBay to be usable.

It is possible that eBay has turned its back on most of its avid users, and is trying to be more like Amazon which mainly serves larger retailers as an e-commerce and logistics platform.  If so, they haven't figured out that they would be eliminating the only differentiator that makes their service valuable.  On eBay a buyer can find privately sold items in addition to "retail".  This adds significantly to the variety and price range of items sold, and keeps the retailers honest with competition.  Without these private-sale items, eBay will fade into relative obscurity, and likely someone else will emerge.

Let's hope this just a malfunction that will be quickly fixed, and we call all keep our eBay businesses going.  For now, I am looking at other platforms.

P.S.: It looks like this "marketing virus" affects recent sales and purchases.  That is why it seems sporadic.  I can still see my purchases from two weeks ago, but not from today.

something that worked for me was to put nordt=true in the link.

eg https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/142810636005?nordt=true

cheers

If you add nordt=true and orig_cvip=true it goes straight to the original listing.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/142810636005?nordt=true&orig_cvip=true

This automates doing that, but take a bit of effort:

Thanks for the links. But you know ebay will find a way so that work around doesnt work either. Besides I cant see buyers or sellers actually downloading a Firefox app and hard coding it to make it work like it should.

Just another nail in the coffin.
