"Terms of Sale: Items are not for resale."??

There is a seller that has all of the items that are being sold with this remark "Terms of Sale: Items are not for resale." Is this acceptable? I don't understand isn't this bad practice, I mean they may not want you to resell the items you purchase from them but if it isn't printed on the item I am under the impression that this is their own rules am I right?

I wouldn't buy used makeup so why would someone want to buy it for resale

I'd be in serious trouble if I ran into one of these sellers.  I sometimes purchase a comic to complete a set, and then sell it as a whole.  

As a matter of fact, I just sold exactly that today.

That said, if I ever saw it on a listing for something I wanted, I might just pass it by.  Not worth getting hateful messages or someone trying to mess with my auctions.

that says they can't spend your money on anything you consider sinful or offensive.

If so this would eliminate many of the items for sale on Ebay as sellers are huge buyers on Ebay looking for good bargains they can resell at a profit.

it's kinda like those multi-unit packs of name brand bar soap, candies, novelties etc.  that are marked on each one's packaging, "not for resale"

the usual reason for that is that the small package is too tiny to list the ingredients on items that are required to have such a list.

It's just a technicality-- unless the consumer has life-threatening allergies.
