.....as of earlier this year,
YES IT SAYS:
Is this not a huge problem as we seller who have stores on eBay platform? How did we agree to not be sovereign?

How did we agree to not be sovereign?
By continuing to list items on eBay, and by not using the "Close Account" link.
Don't get me wrong... all of that stuff is just ridiculous. But those are the choices you have available to you.

The auto relist OPTION has been in place for quite some time, I don't believe there was any previous language in the UA which specifically covered that.

"If you (1) have sold no more than 25 items in the past 12 months and if you (2) use the Quick version of the listing form, and if you (3) choose fixed price format, then (4) the listing duration will automatically be set to "Good until canceled."
Well that would do it I guess...but I had listings relisted without my 'concent' or 'knowledge' rather, that I have hardly sold, definately not 25 of them! This to me is a problem because I'm always running out of listings, it sure doesn't give me a sense of security in my own store when eBay co-op at my cost...they should at least notify me and let me opt out. "Quick Version" of the listing form includes this feature then I should have known I guess. eBay used to be so easy now it's too complicated and tricky. It feels like i'm being controled by robots...at my cost...

nvm not for have sold 25 of the item but if you did not sell more than 25 a year? I have asked the ebay rep about this and they didn't mension this, instead, they told me it might have happened if the first one in that BULK LISTING was GTC, it might have applied to the rest of the listings that went in with that bulk listing. I have hundreds of items unsold and I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS can I say, "**bleep**". If eBay thinks this is a good idea, they should at least DO IT AT THEIR COST. Grrrrrrrrrrr!!
10-25-2017 07:00 AM
It does not apply to you because you have sold more than 25 items total in the past 12 months.

mmmmm...no. I called in eBay and they said "Bulk listing tool" I used might have caused it if the first item I selected was GTC. Now I am scared to use bulk listing and quick listing tool which I obviously had no idea 30 day dyration would be changed into GTC. One of the rep even suspected 'third party authorization' might have caused it. This has been going on since May this year and I am now noticing it, they gave me some credit for the auto relisted listings i have noticed as of this months but now I have **bleep** load of seeds planted into my account that could cause me to pay extra and I have hundreds of items. More work for me without any reward, just more fees if unnoticed. I thought this waorld was run by psychos but eBay wasn't anexception I guess.

I currently have a question from a local ebay member who is interested in purchasing some of the leftovers (non ebay worthy) merchandisefrom a couple of the lots I've recently acquired. They purchase from one of the same sources I do and figured out where I got most of what I have listed. They have a B&M store they'd like the stuff for. They would have to come and see what I have.
I haven't answered them because I can't figure out how to answer them without raising red flags (aside from a simple "no"). I would like to do business with them, but ebay's roadblocks are keeping this from happening. I might just have to buy something cheap from them. (another win for ebay)

If the items are listed on eBay you must complete the transaction on eBay or be in violation of the selling off eBay policy. And now that you've asked the question you may already be on their radar to watch..... Be warned, the big brother auction house is watching...

You can't believe what CS tells you most of the time. Your question isn't on the script so they just start throwing crazy possible issues out there. Selecting a GTC as the first listing when bulk editing has no affect on the other listings selected. It's slightly possible if you use a 3rd party tool such as TurboLister or WonderLister that you might accidentally set automatic relistings.
Look at your listings, are the GTC or 30 day fixed?
If they are GTC, end them, then use the Sell Similar to create new 30 day fixed listings. Don't forget to go back and DELETE the old unsold GTC listings or they will sit in your list of unsolds and you can accidentally relist them.
If they are 30 day fixed, use the bulk editor to turn off automatic relisting for all 30 day fixed listings.
I use the bulk listing tool on a regular basis and have never had any issue like what you are describing (if I understand your issue).

I'm fully aware of big brother ebay. And no, they are not asking about anything I have listed or plan to list, which is why I posted this example. I don't plan to answer this user, ONLY because of ebay's paranoia. Ebay is worried about a handful of transactions happening that they don't get a cut from, while each hoop they set for members to jump through drives more sellers (and ALL their sales) off ebay.
So in the example above, the only one losing anything is me, but that's fine with ebay.

And there was no question, only posting the scenario. Calm down, ebay, there's no lost $ here for you.

Um, yes. You're not understanding how this works and should read the entire thread I linked above to understand it better. Focus only on the process involved in what you started the thread about.
CS reps haven't a clue about anything even slightly complicated! lol

The GTC thing really surprises me. There has already been a class action against eBay for misleading advertising; enough users mistook "good til canceled" for meaning that "you won't keep paying for it over and over," that they felt it was worth a suit.
But as far as "running a store" goes... no, you don't have a store. eBay is not your website. You agree to their ridiculously jealous policies by selling here. As long as people keep going along with it, it will keep being that way.
You can develop a brand on eBay. Your userid can be a very strong hint to buyers who want to find you on the web or by email. You can enclose contact info with the items you sell. Just be smart about it.
