"Check my other items" eBay link removed?

Hi,

I was wondering if the "Check my other items" which was available while listing an item has been removed. I have recently read an update about links restrictions in enbay listings and found a bit confusing.

Will listings that have a link to ebay other items of same seller going to be removed or did i missunderstood something?

Iam talking abou the link that equals to "Check my other items".

"Check my other items" eBay link removed?

Right from the beginning (’04 in my case) I have always had a similar type link in my listings.

For example, I list a coffee mug and at the end of the listing I add a link that says “To see all of our coffee mugs please click here”. That would bring up my eBay store BUT would only show coffee mugs (the link included a sort feature). I have never had a complaint about that.

HOWEVER eBay has mucked about with their internals to the point that the link no longer words. They have not asked me to remove it - they just made in inoperative. Now you get a generic page.

That's pretty sad. one of the smartest things I noticed on one Sellers listings who sold "New items," was that He/She would run Auctions and have a link to a listing of an item that was exactly the same as the item that was being Auctioned off.  in their  Store.

On the positive side, I do think that having a link like that is helpful for the Buyers who need things right away. I think it can build customer relations. On the negative side, I think that having a link to a BIN MIght lose some Sellers some business. The Ones (like I did a few weeks ago) who BID because they really like the item and really want to get no matter the cost. Smiley Embarassed  I did not realize it until I went to the Store to see what the Seller had and there it was much cheaper!!

I saw an Auction the other day that was in the same Sellers store that was Auctioned OFF of just under $7.00, and in the same store, it sold for just over $2. Smiley LOL  I was Bidding on an Item I really wanted bad a few weeks ago and did the same thing. The item retailed for $4.99 and I BID it up to $7.50+. Smiley Embarassed

I have started copy and pasting the title of the listing into the Sellers store to see IF they have the item in a BIN. Many do. Then I limit MY Bidding on the Sellers BIN price for some kind of discount say, 20% lower than the retail cost.

I do not see a problem with links in the Listings that go directly back into eBay. Too bad eBay does not like it. Smiley Wink Sugar
