So... I'm from Norway, getting a package from USA. I've been tracking it and it says "arrived at unit", which I've been told means it's at the place that will deliver it. However, it's *previous location* was at the LA international distribution center, and yet the new message, "arrived at unit"... is also in California. I'm in Oslo, so how can it be at the right unit?

From what I can see, yes.
Once it leaves the states it will generally say "departed". This is a typical tracking flow for an e-Delcon package to Australia. (I do believe Norway has e-Delcon through USPS) https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction?tLabels=LZ411341576US This will give you an idea of what the tracking will look like.
You may also be able to track on your own country's postal site as well, especially when it reaches your country.

Arrival at unit simply means that the package has arrived at the next processing center. It does not necessarily mean arrival to the unit that will do the delivery.

Thank you. This is the 'trail' of tracking messages I've gotten so far, does it look right to you?

I wish I knew how to take a screen shot of one of mine, but is is pretty much the same.
It is showing all the stops and starts as it makes its way to its destination.

Tracking can be stressful.
It tells you that your purchase is in the mailstream and will eventually get to you.
However, it is a Seller Protection, and basically useless to the buyer.
If your purchase does not arrive by the last estimated delivery date given by eBay, open an Item Not Received dispute.
If the seller cannot prove Delivery (not shipping, delivery) you will be refunded.
If the Norwegian Post Office works like Canada Post, if you are not home when the carrier arrives, you will get a Notice telling you where and when you can pick it up.
Mark that date on your calendar and relax.

No, it's about to be delivered domestically in the USA ... perhaps back to your seller?

Please clarify.
I read it as it is now in California and has not yet gone International.

"Unit" in this case means the ISC (International Service Center) that is the last stop before it goes on a plane to Europe.
The tracking is absolutely 100% normal, later today or tomorrow you will see a new line which says Departed To Destionation Country (or something similar).

Arrived At Unit is basically just each stop, I've had orders that have stated arrived at unit at least 10 times (for reasons unbeknownst to me) each one being followed by "In Transit to Destination / Carrier" among other things.
Out for Delivery is what you're looking for.
Hope it reaches you soon.
