Sorry if this is a "duh" question. I have lots of comic books in my office which I have overlooked for years. I'd like to pull them out and sort by title (huge job). Most are bagged and boarded. I don't know if the ones bagged are more saleable than the others. I don't know if ANY are saleable until I sit down and look them up. Am I correct in thinking that buyers will want comics bagged and boarded so I should plan to remove unsaleable comics from the bags (to give to the local bookstore) and free those bags up in case any of the unbagged issues ARE saleable?
These are all the newer comic books, I have 3 of the long boxes also but those might be old comics. I will have my hands full just with the ones in two bankers boxes.

Bagged is not much of an issue. Condition is big however. Some are worth a lot and others not very much.
What are the titles and dates ? You can search up some on eBay and get an idea of what they might sell for.
Things like rusty staples, creases torn pages, writing and mildew can hurt the value a lot. Now a Superman number one your talking money.

At the least someone cared enough to bag & board them.

yes, I mentioned that I will be researching them to determine any worth listing.

I wish I remembered where I got these but it was a very long time ago. The comic books I am referring to are in excellent condition, just some bagged and boarded and some not.
No telling what's in the long boxes though. I highly doubt I'd take on the job of trying to sell older comic books.

The only problem with that is that it's most often the older ones where the money is to be made.

The average comic is not worth the cost to ship the average comic and bag and board might not mean anything as far as value goes. No one used to bag and board and then over time the comic shops were putting them out on the shelves that way.
I have been putting mine up in lots of 26 which is how many I can get in a flat priority and then lowering the prices until they sell. Not one of the big lots has sold yet.

I would sell them in lots - you need to do the research unfortunately on all of them and sell the desirables individually and those not so much in lots. Comics cannot ship media mail, so consider that in your pricing and if you offer "free" shipping.
While they are lightweight, valuable ones should never be shipped in a bubble mailer - they need to be shipped in rigid mailers, which are quite expensive to procure and use for shipping.
Good luck as you sort thru them. As mentioned above, the older ones are where the money is.

I don't think in this case old means good old, just middling stuff. But I haven't checked the boxes.

thanks Katz. I have many book folds already in stock which I used for thinner books like graphic novels. I found an article online about sandwiching the comic books between pieces of card board using painter's tape on the edges. I have that, too. I wasn't planning on using bubble mailers.
I saw from a quick look at the two boxes that there are some titles with multiple issues, but scattered , hence my decision to sort them by title. Wonder how I'll find the time. I found a couple of Star Wars comics that look good based on research so I'll get those listed this week and see what happens.
It doesn't look like bagged and boarded is necessarily crucial but they look better and might have an extra layer of protection.
