I have a question regarding a buyer who opened an item not received claim against me. The order was placed Feb 17, shipped Feb 17 and they opened the case April 13. The estimated delivery date was Feb 22. I was under the impression they were past the limit to open a case against me; past the money back guarantee window but they still were able to? Ebay put the funds on hold until the case is resolved. The item said “out for delivery” but they claimed they didn’t get it. I do find it odd they would try to claim this nearly 2 months later. I think it was most likely delivered and they just saw an opportunity with a lazy mailman unfortunately.

OP - This is what is says under "Let the Seller Know You have a Problem"
If you’re still waiting for your item to arrive, you can check to see when it’s due to be delivered. If the estimated delivery date has passed, let the seller know so they can help you out. They’ll either provide you with additional delivery information, send you a replacement, or offer you a refund.
I read this that e-bay concludes there are only 3 solutions to an item that has not arrived. E-bay thinks there either will or will not be tracking showing "delivered" - if no delivery tracking provided, e-Bay is telling the Buyer, you will either receive a replacement or a refund. I am guessing "out for Delivery" will not fly with e-Bay. As a Seller, you have a really short window (3 days) to "make it right" per e-Bay. Unfortunately, then e-Bay will "make it right" for you to the buyer and you get a defect. If they filed on the 13th, today is the 17th - what does it tell you as the Seller in your dispute window as to the status of this?

How long does a buyer have?
180 days they can file a case, not with eBay, but their credit card company. NOTHING is ever sold and done with here, until 180 days have passed on the sale.
If this has happened to you more than once, at what point do you think you are going to start buying insurance so you can file a claim for undelivered packages from the carrier?
As someone else pointed out, you need to understand the terms you are selling under. Nothing wrong with asking questions, but you seem to have some false sense of you understanding the rules.
Selling and buying here, is a contract with the platform. A wise person would want to understand all those terms and rules, before engaging in something and finding themselves in a bad position, like you seem to have found yourself in. There is nothing 30 days at all about selling here, it's SIX full months. Because if eBay won't just give in to the buyer, they file a chargeback and get it anyway. Let THAT sink in real good.
There is no such thing as fast money here. There is no such thing as easy money here. If you stopped selling today, and canceled all your listings, you are STILL on the hook for 6 more months.

I never had any false understanding of the rules. I wanted to know the rules. All because some smug answers by one person with an axe to grind led you to think that is why you seem to believe so? The only things remotely helpful said here were posts by pjcdn2005 and katzrull15. I just wanted an answer to my question. I refunded the same day the case was opened. I just wanted to know an answer for future problems which I'm sure there will be. Do I need to know about "how nothing is easy", "LET THAT SINK IN" and other sob stories? I don't know what you guys think but I've been on here for 22 years. Rules have changed greatly over time. You could've wrote an answer but instead you blab on with holier than thou craziness for paragraphs. This became more inane as the replies came in. Trying to make issues and whine about it when there wasn't even a problem to begin with. This is why I will never post on here with my selling account ever. Any post on here is misconstrued and leads to personal attacks. Every word is analyzed and used against you but for what though? You're king of the ebay forum? Wow congrats, no one cares and no will care about this thread a few days from now either.

That would be wonderful thanks but I'm sure you can't resist to reply again.

Your "the first" response was:
@coastaltechsolution wrote:You are referring to the 30 day MBG of eBay?
That has nothing to do with INR Case
The eBay MBG policy, itself, says:
eBay Money Back Guarantee covers most transactions on eBay. It means buyers can get their money back if an item didn't arrive, is faulty or damaged, or doesn't match the listing.

If you have been here 20+ years, then you should know the rules as well as anyone. If you don't want people to be condescending with you, then do some reading for yourself and learn what you SHOULD already know.
You GOT the answer, now stop acting like a spoiled brat about it. If you can't be bothered to read and know the rules after "22 years", maybe it's time to hang it up or maybe you should just keep taking your lumps from buyers.
I can tell you, if you act like this with buyers, I can bet you have a low feedback score. Not all of us are here to hold your hand or be your "buddy". Simple things like you ask, can be answered by reading the TOS you agree too. You make note that they change often. So are you even reading about THOSE? Because it's not the boards job to do your homework for you.
