so i had this happen 3 times. twice when i was on paypal and it was the same buyer both times. paypal cover me. now i have a payment dispute on a item that was 105 dollars thru managed payment. it says buyer does not recognize this transaction. i have feedback from the buyer and many messages with him talking about how happy he was with the sale. they don't seem to be holding any money like paypal did. all i had to do with paypal was provide tracking and them money was instantly off hold. has anyone dealt with this on managed payments yet? i don't understand why the buyer did this, the last buyer that did that did it twice then i blocked them. i also blocked this guy, sale was 3 months ago. i don't care if there scamming me or the credit card company you buy something you pay for it.

Couldn't agree with you more! It hurts. Both the pocketbook and the head. It's on your mind all the time, right? Things have changed with online selling and the chances it'll go back to anything like it was is beyond remote. Some have moved on because of it and others are adjusting. Do what's best for you.

i can adjust but exactly what you said it's on your mind. i was just about go to bed and be up early for a company deep sea fishing trip and now i got this on my mind. lmao

That's PERFECT!! Just the thing that really helps: A change of scenery and away from ebay. A walk in the park, taking dogs on a walk, just about anything will do. It'll really clear up your mind. You're going to have a ball! I've done that and something incredible always happens. The last time a huge whale was making leaps. What a show!! Let us know how you did, will you? Congratulations and have a great time! You deserve it.~~Barb

Why didn't you block the buyer after the first time?

It seems to be happening more frequently - the old descriptions used to state "paypal" on the charge descriptions. The new ones do not state e-Bay and when shown on a credit card statement, Buyers think they are fraud based on how they are worded.

I believe PayPal has a policy that says you are covered if you have tracking that shows delivery confirmation.
has anyone dealt with this on managed payments yet?
eBay has a different policy. It says that "Depending on why the buyer's payment dispute was successful, we may recover these funds from you." So in other words ... whether you are covered depends on "something" but the details of that "something" are not disclosed by eBay.

@incrediblefinds199
For a Payment Dispute of this type, the seller protection requirements found in the link provided by @luckythewinner pertinent to your situation are as follows:
When a buyer reports that they don't recognize the transaction:
You have provided proof of delivery, which includes all of the following:
Tracking number provided by the shipping company (uploaded by the date in the payment dispute notification)
A delivery status of "delivered"
Date of delivery
Recipient's address, matching the address on the order (including the city, county, zip code or international equivalent)
Proof of signature confirmation if an order has a total cost (including shipping and taxes) of $750 or more, uploaded as an image while contesting the payment dispute
As suggested, this is a bit different from the old PayPal dispute that came under the blanket name of "unauthorized use" that were typically cleared up right away. Now, even if seller protection is provided, they are going to make you WAIT anyway to hear back from the payment source, even if you qualify. This may take a month.
Just upload the tracking to the dispute.
In most instances, this has been the easiest of all "payment disputes" to WIN for a seller. If, for some reason, you do not prevail, do come back for information on how to proceed.

If memory serves, the seller protection policy with regard to unauthorized use charge backs require the seller to show proof that they had shipped the item to the address shown in the transaction details and not necessarily delivery confirmation. PayPal would then cover the refund themselves and the seller was permitted to keep the money from the sale. However, I'm not familiar with how Managed Payments covers such situations.

crazy part is the way it shows on the credit card as payment to eBay and some numbers: I am sure this stupid stuff is aiding folks to learn to use it to rip of sellers.
Some see the thing and have no idea why ebay is charging them so they do a charge back...They dont even think of it as a purchase.

did you read the whole thing. this is two buyers, the first buyer made 2 disputes and i blocked him right away after the first dispute. that blocking does not keep him from making another dispute. the guy bought about 30 items from me over a 2 month period. he can still make disputes if he wanted. this 3rd dispute is from a different buyer and he is blocked as well, after i got that payment dispute message.
