Did you mean:

no notifications = missed sales

I thought I was supposed to get a notification when i received an offer on items for sale, but i was browsing through my listings and found 3 items with expired offers that i would have accepted if I had gotten a notification.

I went back through my messages and email and there were no notifications. so thanks eBay for costing me 3 sales by failing to send notifications.

Me too.  I looked on my listings and Review all offers on the left.  All were expired Dec 31.  I was never notified.  What happened???

Just accepted an offer and saw that the item had 6 expired offers in the last 3 month. All were above minimal asking price but I never received a single notification! I check mobile app often, however expired offers were visible only on desktop version. I will never use any auto accept/decline options from now on!

You can set an auto-accept setting too. So at a certain $$ figure it will auto accept the buyer's offer.

Then you just have to check your Paypal account daily for payments.

But this is a job and you have to be on top of it.

We can chalk one more up for the glitch team...

Or a problem with the seller's email software.

Or a problem with the seller's email server.

Or a problem with the seller's email server software.

Or a problem with the seller's email server spam filter.

Or a problem with the seller's email server's DNS.

Or a problem with any other piece of hardware or software between eBay and the seller.

IMHO a seller should never rely on email notifications. I log into all my eBay accounts and my PayPal account at least once a day to check for messages, cases, offers, sales, and payments.
