no competition analysis needed?

i notice that in many courses / guides for selling on ebay they dont focus much on the competition analysis "spying and checking ur competitors"

they focus mainly on listing and keywords, is this how its done on ebay ?

thought it would be same as amazon

It's recommended that all sellers know how their items will do on eBay..

preferably before they even source them to sell here.

You can go to Completed Listings and look up any item you're selling.

You'll see how many have been offered recently, for what asking price

and if they've sold (or not) and for what price they've sold.

Perhaps the question you should be asking is whether those "many courses and guides" are any good.

If they do not spend a substantial amount of time of pricing, competition and market research then they are next to worthless.

IMHO identifying and locating good inventory is 95% of the work when it comes to selling on eBay. Creating listings, packing and shipping are just busy work that a monkey can be trained to do.

Good inventory sells itself.

OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too.
