Are you certain?  Where did "they" say this?

If it isn't broken, hurry up and fix it.

I was already using the promotions manager and the markdown manager.  There may be some cross over, but they have different functions.  I really hope they don't discontinue the markdown manager.

yes i saw that..and saw the little bit of info... and then i saw the blog thing...and you can "try it" and opt in... and then there are a bunch of new  -more options to pick how you want.... i wasn't sure what i was getting into , so backed out for now... I did read in the opt in agree to form... no charge--like it is now...so i think i feel safe saying that it is just a better markdown mager...maybe with more options to use...BUT not like the promotions thing with a fee if you sell something using it....

but i'll just plug along and when it pops up..i figure it out...lol

@pingpong517  I am not at all happy about this merger one bit.  I am actually quite confused about it.  I hope this is better explained in the near future.  I don't want to "opt in".  I don't like how they try to fix things aren't broken.  I really like using MM.

There's NO CHARGE for Promotions Manager. I think you're getting it confused with the "promoted listings"

Personally I've never felt a need to combine a Markdown sale with a promotional offer, but maybe that's just me.

I've done it... 5% off along with a buy 5 get a 6th one for free.  It does get eyes on the product.

OK, I just tried to use their wonderful conversion and it errored out twice.  Tried to start a MDM sale on an entire category and it only picked up about 1/3 of them.

Like I said... If it ain't broken, hurry up and fix it.

If there's ever anything here which is (relatively) simple and works (for the most part) eBay will find a way to stuff it up.

yes i see that there is no charge... at first it wasn't clear what this promotions magers was and what Prototed listing  was...so was it going to be sort like the same thing, with a fee when sold... BUT yes seems  this change is just to a biger better promotion manger , formerly known as the markdown manager.....

the red flag that said it is changing gets you to a page that doen't say anything... but the ebay open thing gets you to a page that explains it..and deep in it you see mo fee...but was there/is there a simple clear informational place to read about the change? no not really...

so yes i'm getting a clearer view of it and like all this stuff, will figure it out and use what i want of it...

It was clear to those of use who've been using it.

If you DID want to run a Markdown Sale PLUS add a Promotions Manager option you had to create the MDM sale first THEN add the Promo Manager offer to that sale.

Apparently what they're now trying to achieve is to do both at the one time.

Not sure why you keep harping on fees. The only option which charges fees are the Promoted Listings which are an entirely different animal.
