limiting or masking feedback total

Question from a 10+ year eBay seller;

    I would like to cap (or mask) my feedback # score. 

 is it possible to do ?

  or would it be possible to add an option to do so ?

  ... to keep the positive feedback percentage showing ,

   but limit the total feedback number to just reflect the last 12 months of feedback?

I've been a member for over 10 years and my feedback # is growing too large

  i sell fairly unique and niche items

  and my growing feedback #  is attracting attention from competitors and scrutiny from my wholesale customers

i would guess i am not alone in this concern ..

 plus i believe once the feedback # gets too high it starts to work against you by supporting a perception among some customers that you may be too big and too impersonal

yes, i could start a whole new acct on ebay - may have to - but i like my search results / ranking as earned over the last 10+ years of 100% positive feedback..

Not as a seller-no, feedback must be visible.  Buyers can make theirs hidden.

I'm not sure I understand your concern.  Do you have another account that is not looking healthy like the one you are posting with?

It would be a rare buyer to go back and look at FB that is more than what appears on the first couple of pages, much less go back years to see what you FB is.

What is causing this concern for you?

As a seller you can't hide your FB.  And really you don't want to do that as you probably would lose a bunch of buyers.  I know I wouldn't buy from a seller that hid their FB.

the problem is not just the feedback #'s but also the amount of listings you have up and the stock photos you use too. so just hiding feedback won't help much,

File 4017 feedback removal requests for your buyers and tell them to all accept.

There are lots of buyers here that don't want to buy from the "big boys" for a loose term but want to help the struggling people or the mom and pop type sellers out instead if possible. 

That is why at times when certain  people lose trs their sales go up and can't understand it.

Not everyone likes buying from the big sellers. 

big time drop shippers  a lot of times don't care about their customers, they are just money to them  but the little guy will take better care and take the extra time to  package the item better.  the little guy is there to answer any questions before and after the order.  big guys tend to block all questions, don't have time for their customers. 

Basicly the little sellers  tend to have a better relationship with their customers and sometimes become internet friends with them.  how many big sellers remember you? and I don't mean by emailing you the same mass emails they send everybody else.

I have seen sellers with 10s of thousands of feedback, so I couldn't imagine what this seller had...but imo I would not consider 4,000+ feedback even close to being considered high, especially for a long time seller.

I like to buy what i want from a reputable seller at a good price.  Silly me.

I do avoid the mega sellers because with that much product going out they are apt to make more mistakes.

Use another account for some of your listings.

If you have a buying account, where you buy household stuff not auto parts, use that. Better to have some feedback, even if unrelated to your category.

Or just start another account.

Many posters here have multiple accounts. For selling, for buying, for posting. I have seven myself of which only four are actively selling.

But 1,000 transactions annually (based on your FB left) is not a mega-seller. 

You could put a note in your Descriptions like " Selling on eBay since 2009" . Heck, throw in a picture of your premises/stockroom and a flag to visually confirm you are not dropshipping from Asia.
