I am interested in selling on ebay.  I know, as a professional one would need to invest in certain items.  My question is  - is it possible to start without the professional label printer or business set up just to get a feel as to if this is what one wants to pursue before making major investments?

You don't need a label printer. You can print your postage labels on any household printer.

As mentioned above, you do not need a special label printer. A standard inkjet will do just fine. If you do not have one and are leery about the expense to buy one, you can also copy your labels to a disc and head over to FedEx (maybe other places as well - I've seen some mention public libraries). FedEx rents computers by the minute. So you can slip in the disc and print a label or two for about $1-$2.

Yep I shipped 1665 packages with eBay  shipping labels on my HP desk jet printer w/o issue and just plain printing payer.  Paid about 50 bucks  for my  latest HP ink is a bit pricey.  Used  glue sticks and clear scotch tape (from Dollar tree) to attach the labels to the package (always covered the  addresses and bar code.   Always shipped via USPS services.  You can get priority mail boxes  & envelopes for  free and delivered by going to USPS.com.

Did all our eBay stuff on  our home PC.
