We have planty of people come here to say they quit ebay or are about to. Are any of you still operating here but winding down business? I am having trouble formulating a plan to cut back on Ebay to give me more time for Amazon (I sell books and media) as well as live a life. I worry that if I quit entirely I will regret the loss of the $X I make here a week. I don't know if I can increase my sales on Amazon to offset that loss.
The pluses of quitting ebay are pretty major: more time for other things, much less of an "ebay house", possible opportunity to finally get caught up working with the inventory cluttering up the place. Probably the answer is starring me in the face: is all that worth more than the $X I can put in the bank from operating here?
If you are also winding down, how do you puzzle this out?

Yes, I said I have work hours. I'm asking myself if I should rebalance how I spend them. I don't make enough money to pay a helper a decent amount.

If you have a store be careful to watch for the store renewal fee if cancelling

How would quitting eBay all of a sudden give you an opportunity to finally get caught up working with the inventory cluttering up the place?
This is exactly what I've been doing. I've cut way down on acquiring new stuff and instead am focusing on getting all of the OTHER inventory I've already had lying around listed. I want to get at least a good chunk of that out of here before I even think about sourcing new stuff in earnest again, because if I just keep bringing in new stuff without listing any of the old stuff that's been sitting around for ages, stuff is just going to keep right on piling up.

I am not quitting ebay at all, but I have been winding down my all trading card store for some time now. All it takes is to stop listing stuff. I will leave the card store up until the first month it doesn't make enough money to pay for the store fee at which point I will take it down and bulk them out.

I second that emotion.

You could just put yourself on vacation for a few weeks on eBay. Try the other venues, clean up inventory, and take a break. Then, sit down in a month and see where your at on the sales of other venues and compare.
Good advice. Often times we only need a short breather to starting thinking clearer. There are times I'm completely burned out with scanning listing, scanning listing. A nice hike in the mountains, a few good nights rest and I'm good to go.

Sell what you need on ebay and list things on others sites. If you can make money off it sell it.

A normal job doesn't require you to eat the cost of a return while selling on ebay can require that.
