Why won't ebay release my funds.  The item was picked up 2 weeks ago.

Because it's a high-value item. I think eBay holds funds from new sellers (if the item is over $1000) for 21 days.

Because it was a local pickup sale, you can't provide any proof of delivery (or receipt) so you have to wait the full 21 days.

From eBay

For proof of collection, you can use the eBay app to scan the QR code or manually enter the 6 digit code the buyer received after completing their purchase. To scan the code, go to the Arrange Pickup screen on the eBay app and tap the confirm pickup button. The item will immediately be marked as delivered.

It is sure a good thing that everybody has a smartphone and everybody knows of, and uses, the ebay app, and that the ebay app works like it should all of the time!
