fear and loathing when relisting on ebay

I've accumulated quite a lot of listings that I can't relist because either ebay has dropped the photo (including when I provided the photo) or they say I used the wrong category. The fun part? It was always the wrong category but when listing I was unable to change the category!! Now I have to go pull the books and create new listings, in my ample free time.

I've had the same problem for a couple of weeks. Go to do relists ( sell similar ) and it tells me it can't be submitted because there are no pictures.

Open up another window - save the photos that ARE actually there and duplicate them into the listing. I don't know what's going on but it does take more time!

Is this happening on the new advanced listing tool we're being forced to use now?

Lord - I'm doing groups of my unsolds as sell similar - it's not the new listing format that was just inroduced for new listings - at least what I've encountered.

So it's on the bulk editor? (just call me yme lol)

I haven't come across the issue yet, but then I haven't been listing media (yet)

The book categories and pre-filled info are a giant mess.

9 out of 10 books I list are not right in at least 1 if not 3 different ways.

It's been that way for years and years. You can't use the bulk editior to fix anything...errors for wrong category, errors for no picture, errors for missing item condition....you name it

I went to relist one and was told nope, can't use the stock photo for anything not indicated as brand new.  But just that one time.  Other times there is foolishness about attributes, totally random.

This predates the new and "impoved" SYI form.

Oh for Pete's sake! I had to pull a book to list all over again because it's Nonfiction and I had to list under Textbooks. I figured listing it again would do the trick. Now it's assigned to Cookbooks! And  no way to change it! What madness is this??

Well I don't list clothing (or VERY rarely and usually for someone else lol) but I can't see I've seen it in collectibles yet, apart from the infamous invalid brand thing in china.

I believe this all started happening when the mega book sellers came on board, complete with several IDs, 1000s of listings, duplicate listings, listings with no photos (ongoing) and listings that said they "were not yet available". From memory practically every thing they HAD got dumped into Cookbooks.

That cookbook category thing sounds almost like the sub-cat data from the big seller was missing, so they just chose a category under non-fiction since it was required.  Laziness, pure any simple.  I suspect that they were automatically added to the catalog, too.  Screwing it up for everyone, buyers and sellers alike.

I am listing and had a book assigned to a wildly wrong category. I decided this is a red flag that upon relist it would be denied for...wrong category. So I listed without the catalog. Maybe that is ebay's goal for some reason. (?)

keziak  - tuni's solution has been "working" for me too.
Ya know, eBay must have found out I was born all Special, my days are 26 hours not 24 like y'all. So when it takes a lot longer, I don't mind (like he11 !!!!)
I sell mostly clothing but also have around 100 books and 100 collectibles (one man's junk, another man's junk, is that correct? snicker snicker).

I have been on the phone w/eBrat twice this past week, I have been in tears, my hands trembling, stressed almost to the max. The reps couldn't figure out any help so through trial and error I figured some help. BUT as I c/p from Unsold to another window listing it did not like my gallery photo(s) and I had to go pull ALL of those items and re-take THE MAIN MOST IMPORTANT PHOTO.

For all who cannot even get an Unsold item to pull up grab 2 or more items (even one you are not intending to work with at the moment) and relist with bulk tool. Still shows error message, right? Slide over to Preview (little magnifying glass) of just ONE item and you can c/p all of your info and photos. I hope this is clear. Then cancel relist these items and they will go back to Unsold (where you'll delete once you verify you new listings worked. Proceed with caution. May The Force be with you.

eBay had forced a lot of my books into Children's for who knows what reason some months ago. NOW they won't allow relisting which is really messing me up.

I have been having a crazy issue with clothing SIZE for about a week; it self-selects (size) 17.
Size 17 is actually very, very, very seldom used in real life. It is maybe the biggest Junior clothing size. I guess it is a man's dress shirt neck size too, WHATEVER!

I can re-select and re-select the size and if it is not 17 it's some other bizare number.

If I go attend color or country, or brand and come back I have a 50/50 chance to now get the size number I need.
I DO LIKE the new helper tool that suggests brand, color and stuff, it's usually right and quite helpful.
Um, except for the part where if the color of your item is pink it suggest the brand be Pink. (No, stop it!)
Please oh eBay - fix this!!!
