I am running a local businesses' online presence and accounts. I sell their items on local apps like letgo. I am planning on setting them up an ebay account and found that I can connect the items I list on ebay to their facebook shop. I see there are rules of not selling outside of ebay to ebay usersand want to make sure if I do this I don't break the rules. If someone sees product on facebook storefront and wants to buy and look at it in the store is that breaking ebays rules? On my facebook page I will be sharing my other methods of purchasing besides ebay. I will not send people/ ebay members who find our products on ebay to purchase it outside of ebay but want to give other customers the option who see stuff on facebook who may not have ebay account or not wish to pay online can come in and buy the item without it being connected to ebay.  Thanks

No that is not breaking ebays rules, however, if someone from ebay says they want to come and see the item in your store, you ARE breaking ebays rules. If the transaction/communication begins on ebay, just keep it on ebay, no if ands or buts.

You can set up a store on your facebook buiness page that links to your ebay items so that all sale stay on ebay

I would keep some items on ebay and some stricktly on facebook, that way you dont end up selling an item twice. Ive had it happen a few times with my own sales

Evening,

Not 100% sure of all the interworkings you want to do but I have one question.

If you have all the goods on ebay...then they need to sell through ebay.

If there is a potential for someone buying those same goods through a different venue then you my encounter having to end a listing on ebay.

Once again not sure if this is the case but wanted to cover this.

So if an item sells through a different venue how will you handle the inventory if it is listed here but didn't sell here?

Ending a listing here can incur the bots to think you are taking a sale off ebay and possibly incur FVF even if there was no sale here as well as jeopardize your selling account.

The store I'm working for sells stuff from the store directly but wanted to start using ebay and other online marketplaces to reach more people. If someone bought an item not through ebay, like they saw it on letgo or in the store, I was planning on deleting the listing from ebay and the other venues, would this be breaking the rules? not trying to get people off ebay to go to other places to purchase, just want to reach more people through multiple venues.

Thanks,
Emily

Ebay might decide to charge you final value fees. With the new policies they've put in, its a carp shoot

Personally, I think you may run into problems with ebay wanting their cut, among other things (material rights, etc.).

It would seem that ebay doesn't mind selling - or people/companies selling - things on ebay through renting sponsered ad space.  However, I think ebay takes serious exception with sellers on ebay selling anything on other 'venues' that has been listed on ebay.

And, ebay has seems to have NO sense of humor.

(personal opinion - your mileage may vary)

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

I think this could make itself into a very complicated web.

You could not mention your store in your ebay listings, because if a buyer messages you they wanted to see it there, you would be sanctioned by Ebay for potentially taking a sale off ebay. They could even access a Final Value Fee for it.

You would have to be careful the item did not sell in your store or one Facebook, because if it were listed on Ebay, and it sold on Ebay and in your store or on Facebook, you would have a very disgruntled buyer.  Cancelling would being you a serious defect.
