ebay stop relisting Sold items

Every once in awhile ebay relists a sold item.  I then have to cancel the sale and get a defect.  Why can't ebay fix this glitch?

Same thing happened to me. They removed the defect the first time since I had never cancelled an order. I didn't even bother to call when it happened about 4 months later, so tired of struggling and making no $$. 

Been happening for over a year now, wish they would fix it and some other issues. Best of luck to you.

@antiquehokie, @drinkwine1204   Yep, it seems to happen more towards the beginning of a year then middle to latter part from my experience.  I have not taken any defects thus far, just used some creativity like:

1. On several  RE-Sold Items I have messaged the Buyers explaining eBay's ongoing occasional glitch and ask them if they will be kind enough to message me asking to cancel.  That has worked on the occasions I've done it.

2. Send alternate items: On three occasions now I have sent similar items of equal or greater value PLUS a note explaining eBay's ongoing program glitch.  I only ever heard back from one of those Buyers ... they thanked me and left good FB ... the other 2 I never heard anything from NOR received FB which is fine with me ...

There are a number of threads on this topic ... I started one earlier this year because it happened again ...

if they are going to have an evaluation matrix based on cancellations, they should make sure that they are not creating the problem.  My items are collectibles and unique, I don't have 2 of things.  I can't go out and find another.

You would think with it going on as long as it has, they would do something.

Same here, especially on items with variations... sold items get relisted again, and again...

You would think that while different selling venues are reporting increase in sales and profits and Ebay is showing continuous decline, they would do something...
(other then increase fees via GTC relist for all, promoted listings, seller metrics etc')

Just had an item sell that was already sold back in October 2018.

I do not relist sold items, but of course ebay won't admit to it.

Just happened to me again today. The unique one of a kind item sold literally 8 months ago but somehow just sold again this morning. I guess i'll have to call in ....lol oh that's right Ebay turned off their customer support ! ( yes I know I can email them if I want a computer generated generic response back in 48 hours)

Their system seems to falling apart during this epidemic.
