You had a sale on April 7, so you will not be able to close your account until after all your buyers' windows for returns and disputes has passed.

Well that is too bad - you sold some really cool stuff and your buyers love you, you have great FB.

Maybe folks need a vacation/break vs trashing things all together.  We did MP when it was first offered to us, mostly because I wanted time to see how it went/switch over, etc.

Might feel the same way right now, except switched to Seller Hub last year and MP last year also.  It is a lot of change at one time.  If you are a Seller who did it voluntarily, that probably feels different vs all the changes at one time, but if you sell on other venues, you are already using MP and maybe do not realize it?

Still think the "crux" of all this "I am outta here, you can't MAKE ME" hoopla is that the writing is on the wall - you are going to have to report your sales as income and many small sellers have been riding under the radar thinking $20k threshold was never going to apply to them (NOT implying the OP is one of those sellers).

OP - Good luck.  It costs nothing to leave your ID up.....it is a lot of work to start over, especially as you have a successful profile on here.

Really not necessary. There's enough going on in the world to keep us busy. Having someone we've never met announce that they're going to leave is of no consequence.

@ccwillie2001

eBay, and PP did not renew their contract.

eBay has to have a method of processing funds. They choose Adyen to do that.

I liked PP, but the Managed Payments is working just fine for me. Been about 20 months.

I really don't understand why you think we needed to know or care. Lots of people come and go on any site without announcing it to members who are strangers.

Usually when something is "new and improved" it isn't.  I have been on eBay for 21 years and for the most part it has been a great way do commerce. I just went back to selling and noticed that the new system of collecting your money is slow to go into your bank account. Pay Pal was instant. It may be that I just started back again and it might take time to process. Also my payments are still being processed by Pay Pal. What's up with that?

Auctions set up with PP before switching over to MP will be process as they were set up, via PP.

MP processing will be kicking in for you shortly.

It's done for different reasons. In this instance, on the notion eBay might give a **bleep**.

Which, of course, they don't.

Really in today's electronic world there's no reason a money transfer can't be just as instant as sending an email is.  All these extra delays are to the processor's benefit.   But other than the additional delay there's no real difference in how you get the money.  The biggest difference is now they take the fees up front instead of monthly.  I don't care for that, but it closes a loophole for eBay as they get their money faster while you get yours slower.

It may not matter after the tax law sets in, that's going to suck the wind out of a lot of this stuff as legalized theft is expanded down to people who may have sold one single thing in a year.

Ebay does not read these posts.  This is a member to member community forum.

@postingid7659

I encourage you to read up on how transfers take - they really are not instantaneous, unless you are using an expensive wire transfer.

"you are going to have to report your sales as income "

That is a false statement. Sales does not mean income. You can sell an inherited item and that is not income. In fact, it can and can only be a loss if you can show it was sold below market value within IRA allotted time frames. Sales is not income if your cost are greater. Making your claim is false by all standards of accepted accounting rules.
