I had never heard of it, either, so I entered your question in Google. It's a retailer-invented "holiday" that is officially the second Monday in December. Apparently it was around back in 2012, so I'd say this hasn't really caught onto the public imagination.

There is the green day for the Irish and Arbor Day for trees, one for recycling, so why not a retailer's day (again) for 'Passing over the Green' - they wish/hope.

Well, I already spent mine last week so I'm afraid they're going to be disappointed.

So one would think the ebay 'deals' would be used items ....... or upcycled, etc..
But I do see some are 'manufacturer refurbished' - the rest new.
