Once again eBay is offering 100 EXTRA LISTINGS for ONLY 5¢ EACH! BUT there's a catch...
To get the 'deal' you MUST blow through ALL your remaining FREE listings for the month and be stuck paying full price to list items OR not list for TWO of the last FOUR weeks before Christmas.
If eBay want's to do something for us sellers make this offer the last week of the month.

Holiday Buyer Season? That sounds like some script from a marketing manual. If somebody needs something, they will buy it regardless of the time of the month. And really, if 5 cents makes or breaks you, you have more important problems to deal with.
That's quite an attitude you've got there atikovi... And if you're not aware that eBay sales increase over the Holiday Season you haven't been eBaying long.
And if you think it's about the 5¢ or 35¢ you're mistaken... It's not the money, it's the principle. I've sold over $10,000 of the rings I make on eBay this year and I've done using ONLY the 50 Free Listings eBay gives me every month. When it was 100 a month I made twice as much and so did eBay.
I eBay for fun (and to keep busy) as I'm retired and finally realized that you can't golf all the time.

Cassini logic...if it can't find the XXL you're looking for, it assumes you'd be just as happy with a Medium.
It must also assume that all searches start in Bangladesh.
It also assumes you'd be happy with a pineapple.

Except for vehicles, I haven't paid a listing fee either for years now. But if somebody thinks a 5 cent fee will break them, they have some other problems. I mean, $5 to list 100 items and one sale will cover it seems reasonable.

Basically don't go listing 100 items that have a less than $5 profit on them and you should be ok with that promo. We sure would have liked to use it. Sounds yummy. A pineapple.

You say you're a store owner and eBay hasn't sent you a free or discounted listing offer for a year...
But how can that be? In their "100 additional listings for only 5¢" ad eBay promises:
Maybe it's something in the works... Something planned for the next 'Summer Seller Update." ☺

Ebay gave me two, separate 50 free listings in the month of October. I still have 19 left from my 50 free per month. It pays to be selective in what you list.

Hopefully those free listing offers will be coming soon; it just makes sense this is the holiday season, peak selling season, to maximize profits and encourage more listing to enhance their bottom line.
Wishing you all great sales!

You're right tx-talon... I've still 25 of my 50 free listings left for the month. Being selective and not wasting your listings was the whole point of this thread.
My 7 day auctions start/end on Sundays. I'll list 12 rings on the 19th... And the remaining 13 on the 26th. This leaves me with listings (and exposure) through the end of the month when I'll have 50 more for December. Had I (or anyone) accepted eBays 100 5¢ listing 'offer' I'd have had to blow through my remaining November listings first... This would leave me on the 21st (end of offer) with ZERO free listings (ZERO exposure) for the last 10 days of the month.
To repeat, if eBay really wanted to help sellers with free or discounted listings they would made offers like this in the last week of the month when we could profit by them AND be in a position to take them up on it.

Just want to add that this could have been happening the last week of Sept and Oct, not just November. I bought a bunch of Christmas items in October.
Kind of like the, If you build it, they will come, philosophy. Get those holiday listings out there early to maximize sales. Spreading out the listings and purchases takes the money crunch off people, whereas if you do it late, then there are numerous items vying for a limited amount of money so some that might have been purchases earlier and set aside could now be eliminated in favor of more pressing purchases.

That's what I was trying to say... Thank you for saying it so much better than I could. ☺
What's being discussed really has nothing to do with which month it is or what holiday is coming up. It has to do with sellers and eBay working together to make money.... Something that lately eBay doesn't seem interested in or quite able to do.
