eBay pulled one of our listings; trying to understand the logic behind it...

We received an email from eBay, earlier, informing us that they canceled a listing that we'd had up for the past three months. It was for a bayonet for a Spanish military rifle. It seems that it was pulled because the rifle is considered an "assault" weapon. OK, but, right now, there are 261 listings for M1 Garand bayonets, 65 listings for M1 Carbine bayonets, 57 listings for SKS bayonets and 73 listings for AK-47 bayonets. All of these, being semi-automatic military rifles are, technically, "assault" weapons. Plus, ours was listed on the basis of a previous example that had been listed on eBay and sold. So, we cannot help but wonder why our listing was pulled in light of all these others...

I think it's also worth noting that in the Firearms and Accessories policy that was being used to justify this cancellation there is no mention of bayonets...

In addition to which there are six current listings for exactly the same bayonet!

I personally don't know the rules for firearm related stuff, but it may be you were the only one that got caught.
