eBay note

I noticed this was attached to one of my unsold items. I’ve never see it before.  Nothing unusual about the item, several similar are currently for sale.

eBay note:This listing was ended because there were no recent sales. Please improve your listing before you relist it.

@librsh

Was it REALLY a listing eBay ended?   The reason I ask is that others have reported that the same message was attached to listings that actually SOLD.

At this point, I wouldn't worry about it too much either way.  Maybe eBay is getting tired of their own GTC program?

For me, you are the second Seller to tell me about this.  In my 19+ years  of selling, I haven't seen anything like... of course, I would have same thing before eBay exposed us to the FIASCO entitled "Item Specifics" (which I personally predict will be a DISASTER starting next Monday....July 12th!).

Now this is one that I see frequently for some of OLD listings:  "eBay note:This listing hasn't had any sales in at least 16 months. Please consider updating it."

It would interesting (and surprising?) if someone FROM EBAY actually reads and RESPONDS to your post.  Such as:  Is this really something eBay is starting?  Under what criteria?  What happens to the listing....such as the "Unsold" file?  If so, can we reactivate with the previous 'views' and 'watchers' data still intact?

I have that comment on some (not all) of my listings that I ended myself.

I don't let my fixed priced listing automatically renew, because they will still be buried in search. They will not show up as a new listing in their category. I end before they can renew and then relist.

I just ignore the eBay note! They just want money as fast as they can get it! At times they titer on the line of almost forcing sellers to do things that only benefit them.

Like if it did not sell, up your game and use Promoted Listings to get it to sell.

I had ebay end one of my listings 2 days ago as well. It was an item that was on a GTC style listing and sat for 6 months. Funny thing is I have older listing in the same GTC styling listing but no such action on these. I just changed a few words and dropped the price by a dollar and reposted no problem.

i have the same note on a few of my 7 days auctions that just ended

i was looking this morning and kept wondering did they just time out or were they really ended ahead of schedule.

I relist my unsold 7 day actions once a month

the phrase that Jim mentions I have been seeing for at least 6-7 years on my unsold dead in the water GTC.

i was alwasy under the impression with this entire GTC thing that ebay was going to clear out dead wood listings

Sellers post on the boards that E-Bay does end them.  Have not experienced that yet.

@jimsvinylvault

Just a quick FYI, eBay staff members do not randomly read discussion board threads, so no one "FROM EBAY actually reads and RESPONDS" to posts. It's a peer-to-peer community discussion board, and the eBay Community Team members are responsible for performing duties that keep them busy throughout their workday. It's not in their remit to continuously monitor discussion board posts. There is a firm hired to respond to reported violations of the Community's Rules of Engagement, and eBay staff will respond to a tag. That's it.

I just got my first "eBay note: This listing was ended because there were no recent sales. Please improve your listing before you relist it." today and had to laugh~  It feels more and more like eBay is making it harder then ever on sellers with this new structuring... Managed payments etc...
