Being new to eBay I was unfamiliar with the calculations I had three large picture frames averaging 4 in tall 38 in wide and with a 51 length .So when I calculated it it came out to $15 according to eBay well in actuality to ship it now its going to be upwards of $150 what do I do?

If you let eBay calculate they go by the average cost to ship a picture frame-which could be the price to ship a 9 x 12 frame if that's the average size frame sold. You should've checked the shipping cost after the auction was live and revised it if it was wrong. From now on you should input the package type, weight, and dimensions and get the cost based on that instead of letting eBay GUESS.
And how can you make money on a 99 cents sale? ( large picture frames) You can't. PayPal fees for processing $16 (item cost and shipping) is around 35 cents. Then eBay will charge you $1.60 ffv. You're collecting 99 cents and paying 1.95 in fees. And you have to pay the difference in shipping. And PM charges dim weight for over 12 inches, which means a lightweight but very large package could cost you a lot of money to ship but all you can collect is the shipping cost in the listing. Large items should be offered a cheaper method like UPS or Economy Parcel select but eBay would never pick that method for you. They want items shipped FAST the heck with the cost.

I meant to add nobody can force you to ship. That's a huge mistake and I don't know anyone that would eat a $150 shipping mistake. $20 or $30 yes, $150 on a 99 cents item, no. eBay will give you a defect for not shipping if you cancel the transaction and the buyer can leave negative feedback. ONE defect won't hurt but getting a negative as your first feedback could.

Huh ? Ebay does not guess. Where did you get that false info from ? The seller puts in the dimensions and weight and it is up to the seller to make sure it is accurate.

eBay does guess: When a seller uses the "Quick" version of the listing form, eBay suggests a shipping method and cost, and their suggestion is based on category averages. In this case, the listing is set up for calculating postage for a 2-pound package. The seller clearly did not enter the dimensions and weight of their actual package.

OK, I've always entered the exact weight and dimensions. Sounds strange to just guess. Looks like the OP and many others need to check when submitting if using the quick form.
