I mailed an item the SAME day. The item is a football card over $200, so eBay has it shipped to the authenticator hub in Ybor Ciry, FL. Since it has arrived in that area, it has been "in transit" for a month now. Missing Mail Search with NO reply. Now the seller wants a refund. This is ridiculous. Having the card make multiple extra stops just to get to the seller and because of the program eBay has, I, the SELLER has to own up for their process? Super unfair.

Has the buyer contacted you?
I have never dealt the Authentication program but I assume it's given a new tracking number when it is sent on to the ultimate buyer.
By the way, YOU are the seller!

All I can tell you is anything I ship to Florida is insured. I have had bad luck with shipping to Florida. Things have a habit of entering a black hole, and disappearing. Once that "In Transit" shows up for more than three weeks, chances are it is either lost or delivered without confirmation. The odds of it showing up eventually are slim to none.

Check the details of that Authentication process -- eBay may have created a method to work out missing cards and such. Like the eBay Standard Letter postage -- if it doesn't get delivered, you file a claim with eBay and they pay you or refund your customer. Hopefully the authentication process has similar protections... cuz otherwise there is going to be a lot more "lost" than there should be. There's nothing like a financial impact to make 3rd party companies get more active in monitoring things. 🙂

Not 100% clear with regard to your current shipment. Has the package actually arrived at the authentication center or is it sill "in transit"? Since you have no response from the missing mail search file an insurance claim against the shipment. If it has arrived at the authentication center then this issue is with the authenticator who either still has the card or has lost it.
EBay has had multiple issues with their authentication programs and they, eBay, do not make it easy to contact the authentication centers/hubs to try and resolve issues. If the buyer opens an INR this is something eBay needs to own and they, or the authenticators, are the ones that should be responsible for the refund to the buyer.

I have had nothing but issues since they rolled out the authentication process. I sell cards and most get rejected even though the Buyers reach out and still want them. My last card was there for two weeks with no communication from them at all. I spent a few hours trying to track it down with no success then suddenly, boom! They coincidentally rejected it even though they called the buyer and asked him if he still wanted it in which he said yes. It's a total joke and I am now forced to find another platform to sell through.

That is a good question. I don't know anything about how the process works and really don't care to use it with so many posts about issues.
Surely the tracking number from seller to the authentication center will be different than the tracking number after it leaves the authentication center and going forward to the buyer.
Worse scenario is if someone is working withing the delivery carrier and knows that the package address is going to an authentication service and probably contains and expensive sports card. Just a thought. Not pointing fingers at anyone.
