eBay is Relisting My GTC Items Automatically Yet Is Blocking me From Relisting Auctions

Another epic fail on eBay's fault.  eBay is actually relisting/renewing my GTC listings automatically when they end for another 30 Day Cycle.  This is AFTER eBay sent me an e-mail stating I can no longer CREATE NEW LISTINGS.

I figured C@@L.  eBay is relisting me GTC items for me.  So I went to RELIST/RENEW my Auction Listings that I have a Subscription for and PAY FOR!!!!!  No Bueno.  eBay considers this "Creating New Listings."  Sorry eBay.  These listings preexisted your Mangled Payments Roll Out and are not NEW.

So eBay gives itself the power to relist a segment of my inventory yet will NOT LET ME relist remaining inventory.  Whenever I list a batch of Regular Auctions it often gives a boost to my GTC items as a Potential Buyer likes a Auction item and then peruses my other items.  I will often sell a single buyer a couple auction and GTC items in a single order.  It acts as Free Advertising.  When I USED TO BE ABLE TO DO THIS I would make extra $$$$ and so would eBay.

Whoever makes these final decisions need to go to Business School.

When a GTC listing rolls over each month, that is not considered a new listing.  The listing   stays active, keeping its original features such as its original listing date and the listing number. It's not a new listing, it's one continuous long listing.

If an auction ends (or if you end a fixed price listing) and then you relist it, that newly-active listing is   a new listing. "New listing" doesn't mean an item that has never been listed before. It means a listing that is just starting out.  A relist, new listing or "sell similar" listing all fall under eBay's "new listings" definition.

No.  eBay is full of Bandini.   When GTC came out eBay would state that at the end of a 30 day Cycle the listing would automatically relist itself.  Their OWN WORDS.

Many on here were under the impression that when a GTC Listing ended after 30 Days that it would END FOREVER and not be relisted.  eBay was never 100% transparent as to what fell under their 'Creating New Listing' Umbrella.

I bet they are only continuing to roll the GTC listings is so they can charge many of us their Monthly Subscription Fee.

If I can only have access to half my Inventory than eBay should cut my Store Subscription fee by 50%.

No. GTC is just that (good till cancelled), it goes on and on and on like one long listing (renews only for count and fees), same listing number; Auctions end, whether successfully or not, so 'relisting' an auction is considered a new listing as it will have a new number.

That is what the GTC was designed for.

When a GTC renews, it's not the same thing as a new listing.

Have a great day.

Did you get this e-mail because you did not enroll in managed payments?  If so, it is interesting that the GTC listings are being renewed, and your ability to list is not axed altogether. If it is because of the MP thing, you better make sure you can still get the funds from those listing should they sell.  eBay is not above employing  additional coercion techniques to get their way.

"When GTC came out eBay would state that at the end of a 30 day Cycle the listing would automatically relist itself. "

That is true.

Also true that you can cancel the listing before the 30 day cycle ends.

This ebay automatic relisting change caused quite a fury when it was announced but it was announced over a year ago

I had the same problem due to my refusal to join MP. I ended my premium store immediately and cancelled well over 600 listings right then to avoid any automatic GTC relistings that I would have had to pay full price for. I ended another 30 or so listings a couple of days later after a markdown sale I was running ended. There is some question as to how I would have been paid if they happened to sell, and I was discouraged with eBay to the point of not wanting to deal with them at all.

Paying anything at all for a store and not being able to use it is simply wrong. By ending all my listings at once, I have been able to reorganize my inventory at my leisure and get ready to move it to other venues more to my liking.  Be careful not to fall into a trap here!!!!!
