eBay caters to BUYERS

We are all familiar with the conversations that we (as sellers) get when we call eBay on a Buyer for an issue.  Ebay always sides with the Buyer cases, but denies doing so.  If that is the case, and that they are truly 50/50 with buyer and seller, then why isn't the following done?  If a Seller refuses a return or does not except returns, eBay can rule against you and place a hold on your PayPal account and zip your money to FORCE the return.  However, when a BUYER purchases an item through auction or buy-it-now and fails to pay for it, they just get a strike on their account.  WHY DOESN'T EBAY PLACE A HOLD ON THEIR PAYPAL OR BANK ACCOUNT AND ZIP THE MONEY TO PAY THE SELLER?  Seems fair that if the Seller gets dinged, so should the Buyers.  Selecting Buy-It-Now or placing a winning bid on an item is a Contractual agreement, and eBay even agrees to that.  So why not take the money from the Buyers who do not honor the contract?  Fair?  I think not.

eBay caters to BUYERS

This isnt a perfect explanation, arguments can be made on both sides about who is more valuable, but in a nutshell it is sellers who are a dime a dozen. Buyers are needed more than sellers. So buyers are catered to and eBay protects the buyers’ interests to keep them on the site. If they lose a seller, less harm is done to the platform than the loss of a buyer. Buyers bring the money.

Yeah, but if sellers are there to sell their specific items, there would not be buyers!  Buyers need to have items to buy.

If a Seller refuses a return or does not except returns, eBay can rule against you and place a hold on your PayPal account and zip your money to FORCE the return.

Yep.

No Returns does not mean No Refunds.

Some sellers of fragile items choose to accept pictures of damaged items, rather than insist on the return of a box of shards.

Any seller can insist on the return of the disputed item whether or not they have a No Returns policy.

The real question is who pays for the return, but few buyers are willing to admit that they just don't like what they bought and pay for the return.

when a BUYER purchases an item through auction or buy-it-now and fails to pay for it, they just get a strike on their account.

That Strike will make it harder to bid or buy on eBay in future, because most sellers have an automatic Block on bidders with Strikes as deadbeats.

WHY DOESN'T EBAY PLACE A HOLD ON THEIR PAYPAL OR BANK ACCOUNT AND ZIP THE MONEY TO PAY THE SELLER?

Because the buyer changed his mind. He doesn't want it. If he is forced to buy it, not only will he never buy on eBay again, and tell all his friends and relatives, and start a class action suit, but he will demand his money back because the item is Not As Described, if necessary making the NAD stick with the careful use of a sledgehammer.

Apparently you have never worked in B&M retail.

Customers try on clothes and then put them back. Customers mess up carefully arranged displays. Customers even sample the grapes, or turn up at the register with an empty coke bottle and pay for the drink they finished while shopping.

Not paying for an item the customer never received, is nothing compared to tidying up after a day working the shop floor.

If you have less than one percent of your transactions go bad, you're doing better than most retail businesses.

If you are having more, look to your business plan, because sometimes the problem is the seller.

eBay caters to BUYERS

all my cases ebay judge for buyer .

just one case without any asking from my side buyer give me bad feedback and ask for return . ebay itself track the shipment and refuse case . remove bad feed back and say the customs is buyer responsibility.

they are trying but we still not happy in some cases like recieving empty box as seller said we lost all our money on it while we are sure of what we sent .

also when buyer said i don't want the product or not as subscribe . why the seller should pay the shipment . the buyer should pay that.

ebay give us good chance to sell . just if they can give us some protect they will be perfect.

I've actually never talked with an eBay CS agent that said they are 50/50 with buyer/seller treatment. And believe me, I've spoken to tons of eBay CS agents. Some here have said I'm crazy for calling eBay so many times.

Out of the many agents I have uttered to that eBay favors the buyer, all of them agreed and admitted to it. Maybe the agents you spoke to were in the mode to tell you what you want to hear. When I talk to CS, I always try to make it clear that I prefer being told something I hate that is truthful versus being mislead with good news that is incorrect.
