eBay authentication failed and sent me back different shoes

I sold a pair of Nike Weightlifting shoes last month and found out recently that the shoes failed inspection due to "The shoe SKU /Product ID/Style number does not match the order details.". I believe my shoes were mixed up with someone else's shoes at the authentication, because what I received back is a pair of Asics shoes...  the problem is, I don't have any Asics in my inventory. I'm out my money and shoes now, and I'm afraid eBay won't be able to resolve this because I'm sure the authentication partner will deny any wrong doing.. Has anyone had anything like this happen before? This eBay authentication has been a mess.

@raysle

    Been reading real time problems with this authenticity program. Do you anywhere have the direct number to this place? Another poster stated they did and was going to call them directly. Otherwise your going to have to contact eBay and ask for it or explain the problem to them..yikes!

     Lots and lots of problems with this place. Good luck dear.

When you first send your shoes to them, do you receive a confirmation of any type that outlines receipt that states what the shoes are?

So sorry for you - what a total mess.  There are so many complaints about this service and unfortunately, you know that first hand.

I don't do social media, but can you post about this on e-bay facebook and see if someone from e-bay can direct you to someone affiliated with this program?  Good luck.  So sorry.

No direct number, just the name Sneaker Con somewhere in New York. Will definitely be contacting them to see if they can resolve this as well.

The name Sneaker Con does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling about their service. Bet someone there has a new pair of Nikes. Very poor marketing planning. 🤔

Just had this same person reject the authentication of some shoes that I sold. What happened in your case? I’m frustrated and nervous seeing so many troubling posts about the eBay sneaker program.

That about sums it up. Seems like eBay has been hiring a lot of executives that just want to make a name for themselves by creating new "passion" programs to try and compete with whatever the new hot market is (shoes, pokemon/sport cards, etc. [will NFT's be next?]) instead of just making a stable and trusted marketplace.

Their is a lack of accountability by using third party authenticators----it's as much of a "he said/she said" between the seller and the authenticator as it has always been between the seller and the buyer.
