I heard a very nice and professionally prepared eBay Radio ad today and was quite impressed. It was really well done, since I was driving I could not jot down any notes but it ended with this sentiment, "eBay, where America's small business lives"
I give eBay credit where credit is due on this one!!!

@gwzcomps More exposure will help ... the way I view this particular commercial is it covers a good size listening area in the state ... Radio reaches a lot of people and is low cost compared to TV commercials. Our area has a lot of eBay Sellers but also has a lot of rural areas ... I imagine they are doing this in many cities across the country.

..."eBay where America's small business lives"...
...yes and no...

Some TV exposure would help too. I see Etsy ads pretty often, but no eBay ads.

Per Mr. Sweetnam's recent announcement he states:
"... While these results are exciting and encouraging, we are not letting up. Instead, we are doubling down on programs to continue this momentum. And, eBay will be returning to national TV this month with a campaign that focuses on our small & medium business sellers. This is one example of how we are investing everything we can to keep eBay top of mind. In the past you’ve heard us say that TV isn’t a top priority, but a lot has changed and we’re excited to get your message out there. ..."

Do people even watch TV anymore? If eBay was serious eBay would start advertising on Facebook Marketplace. I spend about as much time there as I do on eBay. Otherwise online advertising can be a waste of money. Between my Pi-Hole and Adblock plus I don't see many online ads anymore 😈 I do find it amusing when I see eBay ads on my phone and they are for my own items I am selling 😛

@gwzcomps They are apparently spreading the advertising out over numerous platforms ... we're not on social media right now so we would miss anything they do there but we watch TV as well as listen to the radio ... but the advertising I would really like to see is them giving me an eBay van to compete with ALL the Amazon Prime vans I see in the area. i would be more then happy to receive a FREE van with eBay's logo on the side JUST for advertising purposes of course ... I would pay the insurance and servicing plus gas or course ...

To the tune of something like 3-4 hours a day on average. I can't fathom it myself, but then I don't watch TV at all.
I'll listen out for the radio commercial (if they play it on the local hip-hop station, that is).

😁
I'll pay for the eBay wrap if they give me a free car to go with it.

There has been an ENORMOUS amount of traffic coming now to this site due to the pandemic. I know personally because we have never done so well on here in the past. They basically did not have to do anything to get these results. Now let’s see if they put there money where it will be useful to continue to grow. The real credit goes to all these small businesses who have been able to get their products to people during these times. I credit Ebay for getting off their behinds and doing something that might help everyone on here including EBAY.

Yes, there's an opportunity here, and it appears the site is beginning to capitalise on it with more advertising. Getting people in the door is the hardest thing - now we need to keep them here (well, most of them).

Mercari and Poshmark were pounding the TV adds every hour on a lot of stations for quite some time. They of course relatively new to the game and luring people away from here, to get more of the pie.

Okay, since I like to consider myself a fair guy I did two searches ...one for "Amazon Prime van pictures" (looks like a lot are Mercedes) and "eBay van pictures" ... the results are below ...
