does anyone else notice that the sponsored listing images at the bottom of search results pages are often your own items?!
I certainly don't want ebay to count showing me my own items as being a sponsored view... what i mean is,, even the sponsored listings positions,, there are only a certain number of images that ebay shows on each page,,
kinda like,, if i was a company paying for the amount of time ebay shows my ad,, i don't want them counting the showing me my own ads as one of my "shows"
does this make sense?? or am i missing something?

It will always count as an impression when it shows up for you. This is the same for paid ads in google and other places. But those other places are pay as you click. Just don't click into those sponsored ads.
For ebay, it's not pay as you click, but rather pay as you buy. So just don't buy your own listing and you won't be charged the promotion fee.

ha ha,,i must have explained it wrong..
i know i'm only charged the promotion fee on a purchase..
what i mean, is,.. there only 6 or 7 promoted listings at the bottom of the page (i'm not sure exactly ,but it's a finite number under 10).. obviously there hundreds of thousands of items that are being promoted that would have also fit the criteria that ebay uses when it decides which promoted listings to show. And i presume that ebay rotates which promoted listings show up in some kind of order..
so if the priority placement of promoted listings of my items only occurs every 150 search result pages.. (i'm totally guessing here) ... then,, using up my priority placement on the promoted listings banner on my owner is reducing the actual valid priority placements my items receive.. because, obviously, i'm not going to purchase my own items..
does this make any more sense?? maybe replaceing my use of "placement" with impressions" will make more sense
