delivered to different zip code

Hello, i’m new to selling on ebay and i’ve recently just sold my first item about a week ago. I’ve waited for the hold until nov 21, i should have gotten paid today but now it switched to Dec 2. The zip code the buyer provided me is 19726 but it delivered to 19850. What should i do? i’ve contacted the buyer but no response.

Look at the tracking details and see if your parcel was "redirected" or "forwarded".

Agree itty, looks like it's at New Castle Delaware a forwarder shipping center. OP what is buyers addy is it N.J.?

Both come up to Delaware.  The first one is New Castle Delaware-the locaton of eBay's reshipping headquarters.

I would go to the post office today and ask for the postmaster.  Give his the tracking number and ask him if he can tell what is happening to your package.

The second zip code is Wilmington Delaware.

you should not have contacted the buyer: opens a can of worms because even if they received the item: they can say not received.

Best WAG is that they used to old zip for the location and it was changed to the new zip..

Such has been used before to scam the seller.

Saying such: it may all go well.

Contact your local PO and ask them what went on.

I thought that was in KY?   Delaware has some "reshippers",  and it is usually where the "change address" scammers who are NOT your buyer or winning bidder have been using of late.  These addresses have also been used by buyers of record for both appropriate and inappropriate reasons who actually pay.

You let sleeping dogs lie. NEVER POKE A BEAR.  If they don't receive their item they will contact you. Don't put ideas in their head they can get a refund because the tracking can be misunderstood. eBay also misunderstands the tracking.

If the first three digits are the same it's accepted as delivered. HOWEVER, sometimes the first three digits can be different, as in your case, and then you might have to fight eBay tooth and nail to get your money back.  

Important zip code info:

Some buyers (and sellers) aren't aware that the USPS says your zip code can be represented by a nearby region.   You're in the same postal region as 19850.
