delayed payments

I have been on ebay for ~25 years with this same username.  For the past several months I have programmed "Time Away" due to health issues. Just today as soon as the time away was turned off, someone bought an item with a total ~$25.   The email I received about the sale said money was not available until 1 day after tracking showed the item as delivered.  REALLY? When did this **bleep** start?  Sorry, I have had too many times an item was "not delivered", or the post office lost the item, or someone stole it off the porch, or it got delivered to the wrong address, etc?  The last time I sent $175 of Hemingworth thread to India, and it "never arrived."  So I was out the thread and the $$.  I'm not doing that any more.  For a retired person on SS, it's not acceptable to not be paid for a sale for 4 or 5 days.  I don't need this aggravation ebay.   Go pound sand.

Since you haven't sold anything in awhile they consider you a new seller again. It's to protect themselves from fraudulent sellers, or hacked accounts.

You can expect that, in spite of when it is actually delivered, you may have to wait as long as 30 days before the payment is sent to your bank.

Trust and safety rules online have gotten stronger, not only on Ebay.

As a 79 yo seller, let me remind you that you should not sell anything online which you cannot afford to lose completely. There are many more thieves with more schemes than ever in the past.

Situations like your thread problem are now which safer for sellers, because of the Ebay International Selling Program where Ebay takes responsibility for the order once it is accepted at Ebay's shipping hub.

Being retired and on SS makes no difference.

You haven't sold anything in a little while and they'll hold your funds.

If you don't need the aggravation, you might want to remove the rest of your listings before any sell and the funds are held.

Have a great day.
