hello friends do you recommend selling fishing reels and lady's shoes under one account? Why does eBay discourage sellers from opening multiple accounts for the above purposes?

How are they discouraging you?

You can.
I've seen odder mixes.
But you can also open multiple accounts.
One newish problem is that Managed Payments requires a checking account for each selling account.
I'm not absolutely sure, but when I attempted to use the same bank account for two different checking accounts, one of the MP accounts stopped working.
When I opened a different account (at a different bank) all the Held funds were promptly transferred and there have been no (fingers crossed) problems since.
It is possible that MP does not allow a seller to feed one bank account from multiple MP payment processing accounts.
Any thoughts about that from the hivemind?

Hmm if one account gets in trouble they all do: so it is easier to keep it all to one. Opening more than one selling account to try and bypass limits is a good way to not be selling...

We have a store account and a free seller account, both accounts are in MP and the deposits are made to the same checking account.

There's no reason not to do that. Most buyers won't even notice, or think about it if they do notice.
You can have additional accounts, but eBay doesn't allow you to open or use a new account to get around selling limits or other limits that are on your account, so I think that is why you were not allowed to open a second account. You said that this account, that you have been selling on, is near the selling limits. They will increase your limits gradually as you demonstrate that you can manage that many sales and listings without disappointing your buyers.

My old account is 15 years old, So I opened a separate account recently for the above purpose. It was suspended even before I wink. Have tried to restore it, but failed so far. When spoke to customer service, they say it can happen since I log into both accounts using multiple data sources, home router, coffee shop, and phone data, etc. So gave up thinking on those lines. So here I am trying to sell local tea packets through a dedicated fishing store.

I never got that far 🤣

If I do that, I would be contradicting my own statement. Besides, I have a 40 item limit, good enough for a niche like fishing.

Thank you -- that's useful information.
When all the dust has settled from *looks around* everything in the world today, I plan to move all my MP accounts to the same dedicated checking account.
Glad to know this might even be possible.

The 40 item limit is temporary.
You can ask for a higher limit every 30 days until you reach the Free Listing limit for your type of account, which is somewhere around 300-350 Free Listings.

Why would you bother? Pay for a store and use categories.
The way you are looking at it is that if some one has 20 items that would be placed in 20 different catgories, they need to open 20 different accounts?

List everything you have on one account because if a person is looking at your shoes they wouldn't know you had other items for sale.
When I find something I want to buy I always look at the seller's other items in case they have something else I'd like to buy.
