cancelling a bid

I have a person wanting to cancel their bid on an item. They are telling me that I have to do it from my end. as the seller. I have had people cancel bids before as the potential buyer. I don't see a place as seller to do this before the auction ends.

cancelling a bid

In eBay jargon, bidders retract and sellers cancel.

When a bidder starts the process of retracting a bid, they are shown the very short list of valid reasons, and are informed that if none of those reasons applies then they should ask the seller to cancel their bid.

I always cancel a id when requested. I'd rather just get the auction back on track ASAP, I'm not invested in putting a retraction mark on their feedback history. And during the final 12 hours, the bidder can retract a bid only within an hour of placing it.

Here's the form to use if you decide to cancel the bid:

Tell the buyer to retract their own bid, that way it will show up for other sellers in the buyers feedback. Send them this link

Depending on the amount of time left, the bidder may not be able to retract.

Many of your auctions are under 5hrs to go.....that is why you do not see an option and the Buyer cannot retract their bid.

With less than 12 hours left in the auction, the bidders are constrained but the seller is not.  A seller can cancel any bid at any time, right up until the final moments of the auction.
