Because buyer actually is using 2 different sign on names- don't look at their real/name, only their 'sign-on'; if they are different (many 'new buyers' are 'guests' and sign up for each item purchased simply because they don't understand any other way) you cannot add the tracking from 'Joes' package to 'Barney's' package.

Hi, One of my accounts that just happened to. I could not figure it out this time either. I called E-bay & a nice man helped me.  Maybe try calling & you might get a person who can explain it to you. Just an idea, it worked for me last week. Good luck everyone!!!

When I print labels for multiple purchases to one buyer, ebay advises that I have multiple purchases, would I like to combine?  I say yes.  In other cases, I can select the 2 items and select to Combine the purchases.  I can then change the dimensions of the box and the weight, and ebay adds the tracking number for the one package.

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that Ebay is doing something to annoy you.

Are the buyer's on the purchases have the same user ID?

Did you try to combine the shipping in the Ebay label system?

Or did you package and ship via another method and then try to enter the tracking number into Ebay?

More details please.

I'm glad you were able to identify your issue.  Best not to assume the issue is because Ebay had some "idiot" responsible.  Sometimes there are just things we don't understand at the time but can get some good help by popping in here and finding out the cause and solution.

@finchy111  The only way to add the tracking onto the other purchase (even if the buyer used a different account) is to go to the 2nd paypal payment page. There is a link there to add tracking, and paypal allows you to add it and will upload the tracking correctly to that new purchase by the other user account without error.

You might be SOL if you are using Managed Payments.
