can not print shipping label, problem getting PayPal payment authorization

Same issue for years. Wasted 4 hours and 3 days of my life with both eBay and PayPal tech support. My account information is correct. I have my account properly linked and my credit card information is correct on PayPal. I use PayPal successfully on DOZENS of other websites for years with zero issues.

I am having the same issue. I have had it for about 6 months now and every time I call they tell me its a Paypal issue and when I call Paypal they tell me its an eBay issue. I have just been using Paypal shipping but can't take advantage of the eBay shipping discounts. Sucks but hey I tried.

I suggest you reset and relink your eBay/PayPal connection.

Go to your PayPal account > Profile > My Money > My Approved Payments. Remove all links to eBay.

Now go to eBay > My eBay and click on ACCOUNT > PayPal Account > View and Update your PayPal Preferences on eBay. Remove the PayPal account link to eBay. On the same screen click on Link My PayPal Account and relink your account.

Next time you create an eBay shipping label you will be asked how to pay it, input the your PayPal account.

Same, I am also unable to link any other PayPal account. (I tried making a new one.) eBay keeps telling me they will email their technical support team and then I never get a call back.

This has been tried ad naseum-- including 3-way calls between eBay and PayPal. PayPal confirms that there are NO eBay links as well as me seeing with my own eyes. No matter how many times I try to relink, or even try to relink other PayPal emails, eBay website is broken and no one from eBay will help.

Afraid there isn't much more you can do at your end, except hammer on eBay/PayPal until you get further up to someone that knows how to help you.

I called them and they keep lying about helping and saying I have to wait a few days for a reply. Then they never email me back. eBay is the worst!

I have been having this issue all year as well. I have been wondering if it is because I used the same paypal account I used years ago when I first started selling on ebay. But, when I started selling again this year, I changed the email address I use for paypal. I have unlinked and linked again twice on ebay and paypal side, but still get the same error message:

"We had problem getting PayPal payment authorization. Please log into PayPal and update the funding source."

I use google chrome.

And......you can print labels throughout the day, then at the end of the day print out a SCAN form.

That is the reason I changed over to stamps.com. Well worth losing TRS+ shipping discounts just for the SCAN form ability.

ADD that the TRS+ shipping discount is ONLY 3 % and only on Priority Mail (not FCP) as of 1/20/2016...

And the USPS has stated intentions of eliminating that 3 % in 2017... and if the USPS does away with Commerical Plus then ebay will NOT continue to give TRS+ sellers that discount...

I don't understand, because it seems to be a random issue. I print labels with this system all the time, and then I get the error message "Sorry, we’re unable to process your request right now" every once and a while.

Some have said their issue was with extra spaces on the address, but that wasn't the problem for me. It's so frustraiting having this issue when you need to ship quickly. I don't want to print through USPS.com because they'll charge you almost twice as much.

Update: Issue still not resolved. Multiple managers lied to me saying that my issue would be forwarded to technical team and that I would receive a call back. I have NEVER contacted back and have called in dozens of times. This thread will likely be closed like my other threads because the mods don't care about us either. I will try the Stamps.com thing. The eBay website is broken and they do NOT care at all, eBay will just waste all your time on this issue. Really the worst customer support ever.
