Maybe the buyer's card company won't let the buyer pay.
Been to the grocery store or Wal-Mart or Bass Pro Shops and worked part time a small Sears retail store. And it is no uncommon to have many "potential" buyer try to buy something but their plastic card or any card they tried wouldn't authorize the purchase. The usual statements were - don't understand they worked yesterday or just a few minutes ago at another store.
