buyer trying to cheat

i am from Malaysia. recently i sold a Young Living essential oil roll-on to a buyer in the US. the item was Brand New Sealed in its packaging tuube.

the buyer contacted me claiming that she had received an opened product and the oil leaked. the tube was opened. i investigated further and she told me the package/envelope was intact when she received it. everything she told me points to her trying to cheat me and the system to get money from me

how can i report this buyer?

thanks

Hi! Well, there is a report buyer button on your sold item page. You may need to open it on a computer. There should also be a flag you can click on any individual messages that are guilty looking or suspicious, to report those specifically. BUT it is possible the item did arrive opened due to mishandling during shipping, this has happened to me in selling essential oils in the past. It might just not be lying. Hope that was helpful.

buyer trying to cheat

hi there thanks for your reply

yes, i understand that oils can leak but her story that the sealed tube was opened while the package / envelope itself was intact does not make sense. i suspect that she had shown me pictures of her own used oils. should i wait for her next move, or should i just report her?

@rivercityframe8251, you can report her all you like, but the fact of the matter is all she has to do is file a SNAD (Significantly Not As Described) claim citing the item was "Damaged/Defective"  and eBay will require you to refund her under eBay's Money Back Guarantee.  Sorry, but that's the way it (sadly) works here.

Her next move is going to be to open a case, which if you get enough cases it now increases your ebay fees. If you think shes lying, I think you should report her and call ebay to complain. You will still, as noted, have to accept the return or refund and no return. But you can definitely complain and report. Id pay return shipping just to make sure the buyer gets nothing out of the deal, IF you are sure she is lying. Otherwise not worth it.
