buyer filing not received claim

Help.

  I have two people that have opened item not received cases. Both buyers have filed claims with the post office and ebay. I thought that the time frame for filing a claim was after 30 days but apparently not. I'm afraid that ebay will force me to refund their payments in addition to them being refunded by the post office also. What should I do??

@batride

The buyer can file an INR 1 day after the estimated delivery date and they have 30 days from that date to file a claim.

What does tracking show?

Have a great day.

Go to both cases and upload the tracking numbers you have for each item. This should close the cases in your favour.

If you can't provide tracking, then you need to refund both.

     What does the tracking currently show? As others advised open the case and upload the tracking information. I am not sure where the items shipped to but eBay often extends seller protection on INR items due to weather issues.

I am not sure how you know the buyers have opened cases with the USPS or what class postage you sent the items with but following is the timeline for opening a claim with the USPS and it takes USPS forever to process these cases.

Under eBay's buyer protection policy (which they call the "Money back guarantee"), the deadline for filing a case for "Item not received" is 30 days after the latest estimated delivery date.  If the buyer files a case more than 30 days after that deadline, they will not win their case.

As the chart in the other post shows, the USPS also has a time frame for filing cases for lost packages. If a package is insured, either the sender or the recipient can file a claim.  USPS says that if both file, then the payout will go to the sender. So just in case the packages are really lost, I recommend that you should also file an insurance claim even though your buyers already did.
