auctions on vacation, bad idea?

While I'm away for several days I will have my store on "vacation" but listings visible with an increase in my handling time. I will put in the banner that I will resume shipping the day after I get back. 

I am thinking of running some auctions that will end a few days before I get back. The extended handling time is supposed to affect auction sales as well as fixed Price. Is having auctions end while on vacation a bad idea for some reason I am not thinking of? 

The only reason I am doing this is because I like to have auctions end on Thursdays and Sundays. I will be back first thing Monday. I guess I could just wait a few days more and list to end that Sunday.

I've had auctions end on a Friday when I was returning on Sunday. I arrange to ship on Tuesdays. All my vacation and out of office messages that go to customers say the same thing. I do connect with them immediately when I return though.

Making money while on vacation? It doesn't get any better than that.

I have the phone app, I do not list with it, however it is great for answering questions and listening to cha-ching.  My only concern would be if you don't have the phone app and there are questions.

While on vacation I always check my email every day.  For years this meant getting my husband to help me find a local library! I'll bring a laptop this time. I like to contact buyers ASAP and make sure they realized handling will take longer than usual.

It's nice that ebay supports all this flexibility.  On Amazon I have to make sure my listings are concealed while I am away though I plan to end my vacation setting on Friday with shipping on the following Monday.
