additional offline payment options - huh?

I went to revise a buy it now listing, and I saw this link under the paypal check box (under Payment options);  "additional offline payment options"...and I clicked on it...>>> it shows Discover , Visa/ Mastercard, AmericanExpress unchecked...do I check  all the boxes?...its located just under the Buy it now price area on the listing page, when you are revising it. If the boxes are left unchecked, does it only take Paypal as payment??? Thanks for the info...

I wouldn't.  That might be asking what payments you accept outside of PayPal.  I wouldn't click anything.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure if it was limiting sales, to just PayPal, or if I should check all of them to allow for more sales from all card types....to increase sales.

Eventually the credit cards will be gone. With technology, there are apps that will make your life easier.

Right now I am working with a financial group and they met this company that will release pretty soon an app that not only refunds the owner of any business or the person accepting this app 1% immediately for accepting it, but every customer who uploads the app will get (I can't say how much) but for educational reasons 1% back, and if they refer the app to friends they get a x%, and so the business that initiated the subscription.

Pretty soon, you will be walking by with your phone, using this app, paying or being able to receive money and in the process earning residuals for referring the app. Like your credit card does, right?  Smiley Wink

But that requires you to have one of those annoying sillyphones. I would use it so seldom that it isn't worth the cost of the phone. Won't work at my house because of the poor cellphone reception. The word app is becoming a word that makes me want to scream. LOL

Check out this link it explains what it is :

@parkersparrow , @crowell_artcollection ,

That link used to be about accepting credit cards directly, through a Merchant Credit Account. But, that payment option is not available anymore. It was discontinued as of May 1, 2019.

The policy page still exists, but now it just describes the two payment options currently available; eBay Managed Payment, and PayPal. The section about Merchant Credit Accounts now just says that it has been discontinued as I said above.

So I'm afraid that this is not what the OP saw and described.

@crowell_artcollection , can you post a screenshot of this, so we can see what you are seeing? I think it is something new that eBay is developing, and you got a sneak peak by some glitch.

The link does have a paragraph saying it will end on May 1st but the Additional offline payment methods is still there and clickable in the payment options section. So pretty sure that's what the op means.

Remember this. Say you have $5,000 in your bank account and want it now!...….and so your neighbor, and the friend of your neighbor and the entire amount of account holders in that bank......well, they will tell you to wait in line because the money is not there, it is just digits on that computer. I think that happened to Indy Mac or some back named like that during the last crash of the stock and real estate market. People waited in line to withdraw their money, only to being told to wait...…...and some are still waiting. Banks can pay you in 90 years. sob

So, why not get there to the supermarket, that burger joint and just swap your phone with an app and you are done? Like Apple Pay and so on? Except you will receive residuals for referring the app, and so the store. Smiley Wink

Yep, I'd get there and my poor phone probably couldn't connect because the service in this area is so bad. You have to go outside and stand on a hill and hold your phone up in the air to get a signal. LOL  Dead zones are very common, even in town. And no, I never ever go to the city as I hate driving in traffic. Buying a smartphone would be a bad investment for me since I could hardly ever use it.
