adding a photo to active listing

I left out an important photo from my listing which had 6 days to run and has 2 bids.

The 'revise listing' tools does not want to let me add a photo.  Am I doing something wrong ir does Ebay not allow adding photos to an active listing with bids? I looked everywhere for an answer -- but can't find one.

You can end it or you can add it in the "Add to item description"

Upload the image somewhere with HTTPS like imgsafe.org. Then click the revise button and scroll down to the text editor. Click HTML and add the line below with the url from the image you added.

You cannot add a photo after an item receives a bid as it would potentially be unfair to the person that already bid or an advantage to future bidders.

If it's extremely important (like it shows damage or something), you can cancel the listing, with the reason, there was an error in the listing (then relist it), otw you will need to allow the auction to continue.

Once an auction has bids, eBay disallows any changes. But you can add to the description and add a photo there. Just upload to a server and cite the image.

While adding an html pic hosting link is a this is a workaround, I highly discourage this in this day and age. Cleaner to end the auction and relist it.

Especially since OP used the word "important" in describing the missing photo.

@gkyn29

eBay allows sellers to ADD photos if the auction has bids and has more than 12 hours left.  This is comparable to their letting sellers add a section to the listing description.  But the original description and images can't be changed after there are bids.  The seller can't even rearrange the images.

Thanks, this seems to be the definitive answer - right from Ebay's help pages. (The pic I need to add actually makes the item MORE valuable as it shows the item to be a more rare/desirable model. )

The "revise listing" tool gives an error message: "too many pictures selected", when in fact I only have 8 pictures. It lets me select a new picture and seems to upload the new picture. However, when I hit the "revise listing" button, I get the "too many pictures" error message! Ebay customer support was no help.

There is a current glitch that is preventing allowable changes to listing with a bid and over 12 hours remainig.

It is a glitch ebay is aware of and are working on .

Additional description and photos are allowable but presently gives an error message.
