adding a direct link to an item in messaging

Hello - I have a customer from overseas that wants a direct link to an item in ebay messaging to purchase.  The item relisted after seven days and the link on the original message from the customer shows "item no longer available". I sent the item url and instructed to copy and paste, but I think there is a problem in translation. How to I create a direct clickable url link to direct them to the item page? thanks!

Add the item number to the end of this URL, replacing the xxxx

Thanks for your suggestion. I did also created a clickable link like this in word including the item number. I copied and pasted as a hyperlink. The result was not underlined, was black and white, and was not clickable. ??? I have never had this issue before. It would be nice if the "create link" function was included in messaging, but I suppose it would be abused.
