Pre-packaged food like the food in grocery stores that have the nutrition label, ingredients and expiration date would be allowed. Homemade food like jaggery from your kitchen is not allowed.

Here's the food policy

Speaking of jaggery there are 523 listings and many of the listings are against the food policy. Unfortunately most people in the US don't even know what it is so nobody is reporting those listings.
I don't understand why sooooo many Sri Lankans don't come here and ask if they can sell that stuff they made in their kitchen or read the food policy.
You seem to be smarter than most of your fellow Sri Lankans. Thanks for asking.

Others have already mentioned and posted the eBay policy regarding food. The other thing you will need to be knowledgeable on are the import laws of any country you may ship to. While a lot of these cover more than just food items in the U.S. the US Customs and Border Protection Agency is the focal point for enforcing the rules and regulations of a multitude of government agencies. Depending on the specific "food" you are selling it may fall under the purview of the US Department of Agriculture.

I googled jaggery. Never heard that word before. Interesting. I thought it was going to have a much different definition.
