Yes, it appears to be fixed now for new listings. On the ones that still have the problem, you may have to take matters into your own hands.
I had one listing that really needed the zoom. Just now, I deleted the photos in that listing, renamed the files, and uploaded them again, and the zoom is now working for that listing.
I feel sorry for anyone who has lots and lots of listings without a working zoom. It pretty much looks like you might have been abandoned by eBay and you are now alone in the boat for those...
