Well I listed my nord keyboard on your site I looked and your site said the percent you take for musical instruments is 5.88 percent, today it showed that you took 12.88 percent, I talked to one of your reps and he said...that’s just the way it is ...well to me that fraud, also you charged your fee on the amount including the tax the buyer had to pay , what’s up with that..unhappy ebayer might be done after many years

You were wrong when you thought the fee for the Guitars and Basses category applied to all musical instruments - even though the fee schedule shows otherwise.
You were also wrong when you thought that optional listing upgrades like Reserve Price - even though the fee schedule shows otherwise (and even though the listing form summarizes those fees before you create the listing).
It would certainly make me unhappy to know that I had misread the fee schedule twice, but I would not blame the venue for my mistake.

@bitjocky wrote:Best to do some fact checking. The eBay site publishes today, July 28 2022, a Final Value fee for category > Musical Instruments & Gear > Guitars & Basses of:
- 6% on total amount of the sale up to $7,500 calculated per item
- insertion fee is supposedly "free"
I was charged 8% of reserve price for the first listing and almost 10% for the second listing of unsold item. As another unhappy ebayer, I will be choosing alternate channels upon auction completion.
Why did you choose to NECRO this post as your one and only "farewell I'm leaving" post.

Is it too late to remind you that, when you post here, you are not addressing eBay, its employees or its management staff?
These Boards are composed of fellow eBay buyers and sellers who volunteer their time here to answer questions and help others.
We are not responsible for the fees charged by eBay. Incidentally, the final value fee, as explained in several places, is calculated on the total paid the seller by the buyer, which would be the item price, the shippig fee and the state sales tax, if any.
Is a keyboard considered a musical instrument?
