I nearly spewed coffee all over my monitor and keyboard:

I just can't believe they are that stupid.

When I read that article the other day I didn't know what to think except perhaps they should focus on trying to fix what is already wrong without taking on yet something else.
And no, I would not trust them with storing my photos and they are all backed up right here in my house where I can find them quickly.

hahahahahahahahahaha
no. really.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
ha.
Putting on my tinfoil hat: just imagine how eBay will sell a picture hosting function - hey, sellers! no worries about glitches dumping your listing pics! Just pay us to manage them for you!

Frankly, no, I would not.

In addition to worries about glitches in the eBay system, I suspect eBay wants to be able to use your photos in any way they choose.
I think I'll stick with MS One Drive with virtually unlimited storage for all my files for $1.99 a month.

I will bet that somewhere buried in the TOS will be this;
”By using this service you agree to allow us to use any content stored in your account in anyway we see fit”
Sorry, i’ve seen this dance before. No thanks. I will stick with the hosting site I use.

Putting my tinfoil hat back on: in eBayland not all glitches are accidental.
How long have they had this survey/plan for photo hosting? Before or after the disappearing photo act?

Same reason I would never use the Hub to store my inactive listings even if they could ever manage to incorporate the "functionality" of Turbo Lister.

I suspect they have been selling our pictures to google forever. I see my pictures on google images all the time. I`m not sure how it all works but how else did google get my ebay pictures unless ebay gave them to google?

Yeah, look at how great they did with GTC listing photos!
No, really, I'd sooner trust my floppy disks over ebay.

The replies on that article are hilarious.
ebay shoud take some note about what is being said about ebay outside of their control.

They didn't just lose the GTC listings. A couple weeks before that they lost almost all of the photos attached to templates as well. I have to re-photo just about all of my templates before I can use them again.

Which is why I use Sixbit. I don't trust ebay as far as I could throw the CEO. Whatever they tell you, expect the worse, you wont be disappointed as sooner or later it will probably be reality.
Should they eliminate outside listers, it probably wont matter, sales have been so dismal here that I probably wont be here by that time.

I used inkfrog and saved me on the pictures, but still took days copying and pastign the ids and relisting them.
eBay images is already here, each time we upload our photos to list, its already on their image servers. Now they its just finding a way to make money from it.
